Neither Sloan nor Jackson are walking through that drawer. They will roll with an interim until D'Antoni is ready to take over.

I can imagine being in the Lakers and being in Jeanie go hand in hand for Phil.

Good move for the Lakers, hiring D'Antoni would also be a solid move..I don't think it'll be enough though, tbh..

I picked LA to win the West, I'm not going to relent, but my choice was based on the assumption that Howard would be able to mask the defensive deficiencies like he did in Orlando..so far, Howard has been good defensively, but not elite, his athleticism isn't on the same level that we're accustomed to seeing..outside of Artest, the rest of the roster is either average or terrible on D..unless Howard gradually recovers his athleticism(not a guarantee), their defense will continue to struggle..

The fact that their defense will struggle is the best argument for D'Antoni IMO..becoming a powerhouse offensive team is their only option for success, at the moment..

what a re ed thing to say? pretty sure the only thing that beat kobe in his prime was a ty team, and a prime steve nash and amare pick and roll. pringles is a fail as a head coach, kobe respects winners not people that almost won.
Back in Kobe's prime (05-07), EuroMamba was 2-10 vs. D'Antoni in the regular season and lost against him twice in the playoffs. Ownage, tbh.

It made no sense for them to not fire him during the off-season. If he couldn't get any respect from the team last season, how was it going to be any different with the addition of two more difficult superstars?

Don't become a top defensive team with cavs Lebron. The team has a lot of good role players, it only lacked a good 2nd option.
