lmvictoriousao!!!
Kobe s looking at nothing but PPG, also ignoring he was going up against the best defensive frontline of all-time probably (who he managed to outrebound by himself), nothing to see here. Not surprised Kobefan forgets their is another side of the court seeing as how their idol never plays on it
lol 6-24

So instead of cherry-picking like butthurt Lakerfans like to do, I have decided to take all the elimination games of Duncan since he assumed total leadership of the team around 2000 or so. You can count 1999, but Robinson was still going strong then, and there were no elimination in 1999 anyways as the Spurs won the championship, so ….
Side note, what was DB thinking anyways? That it was hard to find those game stats? I could find the Kobe ones, and I can just as easily find the Duncan ones. I really don’t know what s/he was thinking. Really.
2000:
Duncan injured, did not participate in the playoffs.
2001:
Game 4 vs. Lakers. A painful painful sweep by the Lakers. Duncan shot 5 for 10 from the field, 5 for 9 from FTs, finishing with only 15 points. Nobody else scored more than 15, and the only person who shot better than Duncan was AJ (6 for 11), and Ferry (1 for 1). Spurs lost.
2002:
Game 5 vs. Lakers. Once again at the hands of Lakers and the MDE Shaq. Duncan did quite well, scoring 34 points on 11 for 23 and 12 for 14 from the FT line, to go along with 25 rebounds and 4 assists. Spurs lost.
2003:
No elimination games, as the Spurs went on to win the championship, finishing each series in 6 games..
2004:
Game 6 vs. the Lakers. Once again at the hands of the Lakers and MDE Shaq. Duncan scored 20 points on 7 for 18 shooting and 6 for 8 from FT line. Nobody else on the Spurs scored more points and only Devin Brown (5 for 10) and Horry (3 for 7) shot better from the field. Spurs lost.
2005:
Game 7 vs. Pistons. Duncan shot only 10 for 27 and 5 for 6 from the FT line against the bruising frontline of the Wallace brothers (certainly a step up from going again 1 on 1 vs. Paul Pierce) for 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists. Nobody scored more points, and almost every one shot better than Duncan outside of Parker and Mohammed. But then, Duncan, by himself, managed to outscore the Wallace brothers 25 to 23, out assist them (3 to 2), and barely rebounded less (11 to 12) by himself. It’s a bad game by Duncan standards, but hey, most fringe top 20 players would love to have a game like this. Spurs win.
2006:
Game 7 vs. Mavs. Duncan shot 12 for 24 and 17 for 23 from FTs for 41 points to go along with his 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Spurs played very well, the Mavs played better. Spurs lost.
2007:
No elimination games as the Spurs went on to win the championship.
2008:
Game 7 vs. NOH. Duncan played horribly, going 5 for 17 (still better than 25%) for 16 points and 6 for 6 from FTs, with 14 rebounds and 3 assists. No two ways about it, Manu saved the day with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The amazing thing is, Manu outshot Duncan 19 to 17. I guess when Duncan is struggling, he knows, so he passed the ball to a hotter shooter. Side note, nobody on the Spurs shot more than 7 shots and had a FG% of better than 42%. It was a tough defensive game. Spurs win
Game 5 vs. Lakers. Shot 7 for 19 for 19 points, to go along with 15 rebounds and 10 assists. That’s right, a triple double. Something Kobe never managed in an elimination game. In fact, I couldn’t find one single elimination game where Kobe had 10 assists, and he’s a guard while Duncan is a PF. What is going on? Anyways, tough to play against a frontline of Gasol + Odom, who collectively pulled down 27 rebounds for the game, and dished out 6 assists, while Kobe shot 16 for 30 (that’s more than 50%, probably because it wasn’t a pressure packed elimination game for the Lakers) for 39 points. Spurs lost.
2009:
Game 5 vs. Dallas. You can make a case that Duncan is pretty much done in 2009, and Parker was already the leader on the Spurs at this point, especially on offense. But for argument’s sake …. Duncan shot 14 for 21 from the field for 30 points to go along with his 8 rebounds. Too bad he only shot 2 for 6 from the FT line. Spurs lost
2010:
Game 4 vs. PHO. Duncan shot 7 for 14 from the field and 3 for 7 from the FT line for 17 points, to go along with his 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blks. The Spurs shot well, the Suns shot better. Spurs lost.
2011:
Game 6 vs. MEM. The infamous 8 game. Duncan played horribly, shooting 5 for 13 and 2 for 2 from the FT line for 12 points. He chipped in with 10 rebounds and 3 assists, to go along with 3 blks against the bruising frontline of Gasol + Randolph. Difference is, at this stage in his career, he deferred to Parker and Ginobili, who both outshot Duncan (17 and 14 shots). The Spurs simply wasn’t good enough. Spurs lost.
2012:
Game 6 vs. OKC. The collapse after a 20-win streak. Also a game where OKC established themselves as the leader in drawing fouls. At this advanced age, Duncan shot 11 for 23 from the field, 3 for 4 from the line for 25 points, to go with his 14 rebounds, and 2 assists. Spurs lost.
So there you have it. Duncan shot 25% from the field 0 times out of the 10 games, and actually had a triple double, and had impressive games most of the time. It wasn’t until around 2009 or so until Parker and/or Ginobili was really carrying the offense.

, good job OP
spurs fans being reaaaallllyyyyy maaadddd, 4 pages and counting
don't know why my fellows spurs fans fall into this every time.... that ain't difficult: create a thread where you take a jab at Tim Duncan and watch the upstairs otherwise confined posters coming at you.
you've just described about 80% of this forum....
You do know that Duncan shot 10-27 and grabbed 4 less rebounds than Kobe in his Finals Game 7.
lol 10-27 for a big man. Lol less rebounds than a guard.
Wallace Towers >>>>>>>>>>>> 1v1 Pierce.focusing on stats alone
They can dish it. They just can't take it.
1 vs 1 with Pierce? Holy delusional .
If that is in Holy Delusional category, then what do you call of your BS on focusing on stats alone? You can't even win an argument on that what else would happen if we move on and talk about PER stats and where your KoMe ranks there?
And you're stupid if you consider Pierce's defense better than the Wallaces of '05.
Artest sure as won't argue the point.
tee, hee.
