Get us in the Finals A.S.A.P! If they come back to the city ill be the AT&T Center so it's all good![]()
To be fair to the OP, though, there is a reasonable case to be made that a defeat sandwiched in between several wins could give a team better at ude than a long winning streak. Some would hold the 20-game winning streak from last season as evidence.
That being said, there's obviously no point in losing on purpose, and 99% of the time, sweeping is better.

2 of the 3 win were in OT. You can't risk anything.
Spurs need all the rest they can at this point.
go for the 4-0 sweep
I cannot believe the Spurs, after a sweep and many days rest, would be ing RUSTY!! for the Finals first game.
A long IND-MIA series would also allow the Spurs to study, prepare for each opponent thoroughly.
Rusty for the ing FINALS? absolutely no way.
Yes, by all means, SWEEP!!!
We'll be rusty for the first quarter like we always are after a long rest but who gives a !
Lots of benefits from a sweep in terms of rest and healing---BUT we have proved in the past that we have a hard time in the first game after a long rest in shaking off the rust.
If we sweep and either Indy or Miami comes in off of a long series with the normal couple of days of rest, they would have the sharper edge IMHO>
Every additional game played is an additional game in which an injury could occur.
Take the sweep of course. Then you have over a week to scout the other teams, find holes, tendencies. Also help rid nagging injuries while practicing to stay loose. Lets not risk iniury in a game if we don't need to
As much as I prefer not to have a sweep and would love for them to close it out in SA, once you're at the point of eliminating the other team you have to go for it. It's one thing to be up 3-1 or 3-2. But if you have your foot on their throat at 3-0, go ahead and snap the neck.
yes....we really want to sweep.
Yes, this is a payback series. This trumps 2011. NO longer will you hear "Memphis ousted the Spurs from the playoffs" without "the Spurs swept Memphis in 2012-2013"
WOW. I just realized that I actually posted a serious answer in here last night in yet another one of the OP's stupid-ass threads. Shame on me.![]()
Revenge is a dish best served cold... no mercy for the Grizz
The Spurs have not forgotten 2011. Please humiliate them.
The benefits of sweeping an opponent far, far outweigh whatever drawbacks such a sweep may bring.
The End.
Going up against the Miami Heat "rest" won't really matter, the Heat went the full 7 last year in the ECF and then backdoor swept in the Finals 4-1, they're too good.
Jesus F Christ, yes you want a sweep. You want to get to the Finals. Rest is unimportant right now. Just get there and figure it out. If Memphis gets room and faith, history could be made. We lost 4 in a row last year in the WCF, 4 in a row is all that is needed by Memphis though it's probably not going to happen.
Funny, and the "DD" fits, the Deep Diver 22 from Norman Lures:

I think the Spurs best chance of stealing game 1 of the Finals on the road is with plenty of rest.
As Herman Edwards once said, famously: " O?! You play to win the game!" And with the Heat's statement game tonight, we want any extra-edge we can get to gameplan on those Stern-backed mother ers.
We need all the rest we can get. The NBA will always make the schedule to benefit MIAMI in all they can. But rest is something our group can always use for good.
Unlike most teams we have a real coach. We could gameplan a lot. Plus, Manu is coming along, and maybe some work in his shot can bring vintage Manu back.
