Neal's exit was sealed by Beli's signing. To give Belineli that 2 year deal the Spurs would need to either renounce Neal or amnesty Bonner, and letting Neal go is probably the better option. Wish Gary the best of luck wherever he ends up signing. I'll never forget the shot he hit to force OT in an elimination Game 5 vs Memphis or his ridiculous shooting in Game 3 against Miami.

Bittersweet. Neal has been huge for us at times. Other times he's made us want to punch holes in the wall. Take care Gary.

Probably the worst blunder Neal has ever made. Those 3 points ended up killing us.

Neal gave great production. Still laughing at those that compared him to RMJ... good luck wherever he goes.

I was fine with Neal's stint as a Spur, especially considering his salary, but he was one of the worst rotation players in the NBA during the 2nd half of the year, including playoffs, tbh..
thats pushing it a little bit....

How did Neal get so underrated by Spurs fans at the end? Odd, tbh. Biggest reason why the Spurs are seemingly letting him go is because SG is the deepest position on the team. There's just no way to justify another multi-year contract at that position. What Belinelli got was about the most the Spurs could pay.

Neal gave the Spurs outstanding performance for the money they paid him.

If this is the end, thanks

So can we sign and trade him to a team of his choice?

I'll miss Gary. Fearless, and had several memorable moments with us. He's carried the load offensively at times and hit big time shots. I hope he ends up with the Hawks and Bud/Ferry will Neal w him continue to let him be Gary.

MB>Neal that's all there is to it. Neal had some good moments for the Spurs but he also had moments you wish Pop would cut him on the spot.

All in all, he made the most out of his opportunity and now will reap the benefits of his hard work and good fortune.

I'm still holding out hope that Neal may be re-signed.

Had he been 100% for the Finals, I think the Spurs win.

Loved that ice water in his veins. Wish he could have had a better FG% and play better D. Gave max effort though.

I wish him the best, Gary is a cold blooded shooter, not a point guard by any means.
Now he has the chance to make some big bucks to secure his life, and will not suffer the pressure of Pop yelling him ¨YOU SELFISH PIECE OF ¨
    We must NEAL WITH IT

I'll miss Neal. Dude had balls to launch at any moment (which was also what I hated at the same time lol). Unfortunately he couldn't play a lick of D and couldn't/wouldn't pass.

He had the game of his life in the NBA Finals, definitely something he won't ever forget, neither will Spurs fans.

I wish you well Neal. You deserve a good contract somewhere.

Yeah that was absolutely ludicrous. Neal had no clue how to guard a shooter. I won't miss his defensive lapses. Hopefully Beli is better at that.

It was pretty obvious. I'm actually not a Gary Neal hater like most and thought he was sort of underrated, but I'm not sad he's leaving.

Neal drove me crazy at times. The man had no scruples. To all the folks whacking off over his departure I can only say "better luck with your next .85 mil. dollar man". Peeps are sounding like Neal had the same kind of contract had.
