She is charged with four felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery and one count of lewd and lascivious exhibition. Each carries a maximum 15-year prison term.
The boy told investigators the two had sex in a classroom at Greco Middle School in Temple Terrace near Tampa, her Riverview town house and once in a vehicle while his 15-year-old cousin drove them around Marion County. He said Lafave told him that her marriage was in trouble and that she was aroused by the fact that having sex with him was not allowed.

But seriously, this woman is a pedophile. She will do it again, because pedophiles pretty much can't be cured. So in that case, she is "insane" I suppose, but the only courses of action I could see are:
1. to lock her up in a mental ins ution for the rest of her life, or
2. start acting like a 14 year old!

well, that's what the 14 year old said. they have to prove she said it. but i agree that her insanity defense is lame and it could blow up in her face like a kid in detention.

The fact that he "told" the world tells me that he was not emotionally ready to handle sex with anyone, let alone a 24-yr old authority figure.
This is illegal and there is a reason it is illegal. Any way you slice it, a 14-yr old is a CHILD. Period. A 24-yr-old is an ADULT. Period. Even if, like this woman (and I use that term loosely), they do not act like adults.
Not only is it illegal, it's wrong. Let the courts handle it. If the courts succeed, she will be dealt with in prison. If the courts fail this boy, society will handle her future (she will not be able to teach or work with children again, I would imagine).

While I think the virtual scarlet letter she'll have on her regardless of the outcome is damning enough, any role reversal in this case and we'd be talking double-digits of prison time only.

Well, I know it's not PC (or maybe it is PC, depending on your definition) but I think a double standard is somewhat justified in this case, when you consider the science of it all...
I'd be curious to hear the opinions of a sample of 14-year old boys on this case.
(And by the way... I don't think she's all that hot... Maybe by sicko pedophile standards, but otherwise she just looks like your everyday average blonde with makeup caked on.)

when I was younger and single this would have been SUPER,as a single young guy. BUT
on the other side of the coin it has to be the most embarrassing thing to happen to the husband.
The kid has to be the stupidest little testerone idiot alive! or he's found out that he's gay? Something's wrong with that story.
