You would be from Weslaco, tbh.
I lived in San Antonio off and on during my middle and high school years. I have gone many a times to SA (got family) and I've tried just about every recommended restaurant. It's trashy as and an embarrasement to Mexican food (really an embarrasement to real Mexicans). San Antonio, in general, blows. The only things that standout in SA are the Spurs and UTHSCSA Medical School. Everything else is ty as .
Haven't you read bro? xmas1997 knows best
Yes, shame on me. Nevermind that people down here in the Valley actually make the stuff from scratch the right way. My nanny would roll the tortillas by hand, etc. like all the real places do it, etc. etc. etc.
Give me a break! And don't be so childish with your preposterous ignorance.
I remember my first beer too!![]()
Well, there's the Alamo, and then that tower on Hemisfair Park... but I suppose he's going to be there more than one afternoon, tbh...
No coming alone. Solo traveller. I'm a single dad and I thought about taking my eldest (will be 3 by then), but 3-4hr road trips and 3 games in 6 nights, I can't imagine he'd be too impressed.
Would you suggest ditching the rental in Houston and using public transport? The Toyota center appears to be in the center of town seem unlikely I'll need the car.
You guys passionate about your food in here... I bought a frozen "TexMex" party pack for a recent get together at my house... getting into the spirit of the upcoming trip... consisted of various items... crumbed egg plant slices, mini fajitas, re-fried beans, y potato gems, crumbed onion rings and chilli sweet potato pieces.... it looked disgusting and was the joke of the party... didn't taste to bad though.... but I'm just about the only one who was game enough to try....so the TexMex bar is very low... I'll be easily impressed.
He's not lying... I had a red bellied black snake in my backyard last summer, he was sitting underneath my kids kiddie pool and I was just about to put them in it, when he came out!
I'm told they are a protected species... but so are my kids... needless to say there is one less red bellied black snake in Australia.
TexMex food with eggplant and chilli sweet potato?I'm kind of tempted, tbh.
Here are some common dishes you will see in a TexMex restaurant if you want to try them: huevos rancheros (breakfast), pozole, menudo, tacos de carne guisada, gorditas, barbacoa, fajitas, enchiladas, tamales, burritos, quesadillas, to name a few.
Me too, but that definitely is not Tex Mex.
Here is what you do, when you are here in San Antonio, ask anyone, while maybe getting some gas for your car, where the best authentic Mexican food is nearby. I seriously doubt they will steer you wrong. It may look like a dive or a greasy spoon, but I guarantee you won't be sorry. Then once inside the restaurant tell the waitress where you are from and to recommend an excellent authentic REGULAR authentic Mexican meal for you to try. They won't steer you wrong either. We are proud of our food here.
Other than a cab, public trans in Houston sucks, in fact unless you want to visit NASA, stay away from Houston.
Oh, and before I forget, we like our avocado with salt, contrary to South America who eat them with sugar.
A common avocado concoction is guacamole and it is really green and really good tasting. Chicken mole is real good too if you like peanut butter.

My ticket to the Houston game is probably my best of the three, so I can't avoid it. But I'm thinking I'll ditch the car and get myself a hotel as close to the Toyota center as I can. I can then book a guided tour from the hotel to NASA and a transfer to the airport home.
@ calling other people childish and ignorant when almost all your posts are just that.
"trust me! I know and experienced everything. Believe me, or you're in your own delusional world!"
relying on the word of militarymen who have never been to the RGV
poor tourists chowing down canola oil sauteed fajitas wrapped in fake HEB bought tortillas
Just stay in your tiny little fantasy world, ok? No one pays attention to you.
Hsxvvd, that sounds like a good plan to me.
Tuh-Ruth bomb. Xmas is an ignoramus. Authentic Mexican food in SA. Lol. Please.
Yet you reply to my post. You sure are paying attention for a reason.
You take offense to the truth about SA Mexican food.
No one pays any attention to you too, sorry.
I legitimately feed bad for hsxvvd. If I could, I'd fly you in and direct you to REAL Mexican food made by real Mexicans. None of the fake bull rendition called "TexMex" in SA.
I'm talking real Mexican food.
chill out folks, both places have good and crappy restaurants
And that is the honest truth.
However I wouldn't put it past them to quote the bible to support their better Valley Mexican food argument.![]()
The Bible has no relevance here. But the Valley has the best Mexican food and frankly, I don't recall anyplace that wasn't good.
Fine, have it your way.
It's the least I expect given the ignorance of a bandwagon Spur fan. You should be ashamed of yourself.
are you all from the valley? do you all go to a certain bar to watch games?
