Haven't any of you ever had back spasms before. Doesn't seem too serious at all and often your back even loosens up as it gets warmed up when playing. Often the back acts up (gets tight with some pain) and goes away in a day or two. If the playoffs started tomorrow Parker would be playing.

    Anyone else remember 2000 playoffs?

Team sold A LOT of tickets before we were told Tim wasn't gonna play.

No Parker tomorrow against Minny per the SAEN.

No surprises there but Parker saying it isn't serious is good news. However, he makes it sound like this has been a nagging issue and not a new injury.

Let him sit until playoffs. If he wants to get some conditioning in the last game of the year vs LA than let him play that one if he's back to 100%

I say let him rest until the 1st round. We can get through the 1st round with a rusty Parker...let him use the 1st round as a means of getting into playoff form.

Playoffs start April 19th IIRC. That would give him almost 2 weeks of rest if we shut him down until then.

I dropped a rusty Parker a few minutes ago. It leaked out ahead of the pack, curled inside, darted outside and drove straight to the hole. It went around and around, but it finally went down.

Loose Google translation per Tony's radio show:

the good news is that my body holds up well and there is nothing broken, only inflammation. We will see what we will decide with the coach.

    This (from Tony's radio show) is quoting Tony today as saying it's nothing serious;
    http://basket-infos.com/2014/04/07/t...rien-de-grave/

Translation: Nothing serious, was in pain, didn't want to risk it, been playing a lot, good news not serious, will follow-up with Pop and see when a return makes sense

"I'm here, I'm in pain to go to my desck. It's ok, nothing serious. Its gonna take a bit of time. I don't know how much. The pain was growing slowly. I didn't want to take any risks. POs are in two weeks. I decided to call the doc and we decided to not end the game. I'm sure it's a question of ulating games. I played 3 years without holidays. I'm paying the bill. The good news is my body holds it well, nothing is broken, just inflamations"

Loose Google translation per Tony's radio show:
A fantasy basketball news source had this to say regarding the injury:

Parker (back) underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed he has only inflammation in his back, but will miss Tuesday's game in Minnesota the San Antonio Express-News reports

However, I haven't been able to find any other confirmation of the MRI only revealing inflammation (aside from your translation). You'd think we'd have some more concrete word on the MRI results by now because it certainly seems like Parker and the Spurs already know the results. You never know with the Spurs though.

Yeah sit him till the playoffs. Hopefully we get the Mavs or Grizzlies in the 1st round as opposed to Phoenix. Parker probably won't be needed as much against the former.

    Didn't look good.

UPDATE: Will get MRI for potential bulging disc.

Guys who live like Tiger and Tony prone for back surgery.
If it was bulging disk he wouldn't have been able to walk straight in pain.....he was moving fine when heading back to the locker room so its probably spasms or he strained something

Parker’s MRI revealed a sprained facet joint, left side, per Spurs. He won’t join the team on the current road trip. Day-to-day after that.

Prognosis of a facet joint sprain

The recovery time for a facet joint sprain may vary from patient to patient depending on compliance with physiotherapy. With ideal treatment, patients may be pain free in as little as several days, although typically this may take 2 – 3 weeks. It is important to note, however, that injured tissue takes approximately six weeks to restore the majority of its strength in ideal healing conditions. Care must therefore be taken when returning to activity during this period.
