Best player since prime Jordan
Still shows up when we need him... still closing out playoff games for us at 38 years old and delivering the win... <3, tbh
Best player since prime Jordan
Cheers for the old Manu
would not want to imagine our offense without him.
Thinking this team wouldn't need another year from Manu given our dreary ball-handling/play-making reality..soon to be 40- in-year-old Ginobili is still indispensable to this team unfortunately..
Last night felt so 2014 with him closing out games with the band..here's hoping he has one last hurrah series against the Dubs because Clippers-series Parker has set in..
Manu at PG<3
I've been waiting for it since game 6 vs. OKC, tbh..
I think he (Manu) would be willing to do it, assuming he thinks this is his last season. And I think he does think that. He doesn't want (can't handle) the time and energy requirements of the SL point guard role, but for one or two series, I think he would do it. Question is, will Pop do it?
I think we are at the point where Pop will do anything. He benched Duncan last night to match the small ball line-up. I am convinced that he will bench as many of our guards as necessary to try to pull this thing out. He has benched Parker for the ends of periods several times lately and I think we will see more and more of it if TP's play remains so poor and Manu's is better.
But Pop will be careful; no wearing out Manu before the final series.
I agree..I think he learned from last year's playoffs that there will be times where benching Parker is necessary..Duncan has adjusted and accepted being benched for situational purposes, I suppose it's TP's turn to do the same..
I think Pop will play Manu at point when it's required, I don't think last night was an example of a lack of alternatives..it's evident that Mills cannot run the offense and there's no way he should be playing 50-year old Andre Miller in big moments, despite what many Spurs fans want..Manu at PG is not a logical move for long stretches, but it could be utilized for a quarter, or even just half a quarter, if necessary..
It would work vs. GS, too, since he could just guard Harrison Barnes, which isn't a difficult matchup for him..Green and Leonard are going to guard Curry and Thompson, anyways, Manu can handle Barnes or Iguodala..
Manu may be willing to do it but it is not the best thing to do, he will be gassed by the end of the CSF if that happens.
We need to use him at point when is clear than Parker and Mills are both playing bad, otherwise avoid it.
You must keep him fresh to finish games at point against GS, the best moment to use him at that position.
Definitely want to see more of that Manu/Green/Kawhi/Diaw/Aldridge lineup
Outside of Curry, every perimeter player for the Warriors has great size for their position(include Draymond Green, as well, since he can guard 3s and even some 2s)..it's one of the most impressive traits of their roster..both Spurs' PGs struggled offensively against them in all the matchups this season IIRC, especially Patty..
Wow i think this is the best passing mix i´ve seen, in terms of condensing the best in a not so long video.
And not just offensively. Patty is exploited on defense worse than Tony. He's really the kind of guy you can't afford to plat much unless he's scoring efficiently. Even the depleted Grizzly got good shots out of switches with Patty every time. And Pop switches bc he cannot defend a PnR.
Wish we would play vs 2014 Mario Chalmers every series, tbh...
soon to be 39 year old, born in 1977
Are you expecting Patty to play the same as the regular season?
Manu needs his Finals MVP
would be awesome.
