Sure, but a good team is a good team, regardless..NBA teams that are "peaking" usually have a good combination of scheduling and in the Spurs case, desperation/health..
That's why the dallas team was tough. They were playing crazy hard to get in the playoffs. Their playoff games started long before the first round.

Danny is one of my fav players, but he no-showed in 7.
He did I can't deny that, but if other players on the team can win Finals MVP's even after disappearing for 2 games and only suiting up to play for 3... Green deserved it when he played lights out for five

Your prior statement made mention of our biggest weapons. Boris and Leonard had 28 shots between them. Three point shooting was held in check by the team giving up the second fewest threes in the league. That has far more to do with the Pels D than with anything Parker may or may not have done for one quarter of the game.
I said three-point shooting (aided by ball movement) was the team's best collective weapon. That's fine if the Pels defend it well, but you're really telling me the second unit managed to put up 10 3PT FGA the 14 minutes Enrique was off the floor but the team couldn't get any looks the 34 minutes he was on? Seems like a pretty ridiculous notion tbh.

Boris was involved. I think him, Timmy and to a lesser extent Baynes are the biggest beneficiaries when Tony goes into his dribble dribble dribble or two-man game.

Kawhi shot 4-5 shots during the stretch when he was on the floor w/o the starters. Forced a couple others. There's a big difference between FGA and calling plays for him, getting him the ball in his sweet spots. How often was the offense ran through him in the post while Rique was out there? We saw a heavy dose of that during the most dominant stretch of the winning streak.

Do you think Tony has for his entire career consistently played outside of Pop's system and against Pop's his wishes? Or perhaps Tony is uncoachable. Do you think Pop is intimidated or afraid to confront Tony and ask him to conform to what he believes is a winning system? Do the interactions you've observed between Pop and Tony, over the course of his Tony's career, lead you to believe Pop would choose a non-confrontational route when dealing with Tony, and instead choose to ignore the problem?

And what of Tim and Manu? The three players have maintained a great relationship off the court and great chemistry on the court, which is also true of their relationship with their coach. Do you believe that would be possible over so many years with the unquestionable selfishness that you attribute to Tony?
All the players, especially the Big 3, do their own thing outside the system at times. Manu has done it over the course of his career too except it was in a different way and when he ed up it was usually a stupid pass/turnover. He's a two guard that always had elite courtvision, Rique OTOH has always been a scoring point guard. His way of venturing outside the system is to go into hero mode. Aside from the fact that he's been a much better player, that's the real reason most of us always preferred Manu over Rique--not bc he's Hispanic.

    It's called foul trouble dude....

You know guarding the best player in the world will do that to you. Guarding Lebron for 12 Finals games was by far the hardest thing any Spurs player has had to do in the last two years...

Kawhi answered the challenge...and ended up getting his on the offensive end. He deserved FMVP.

The Spurs just didn't seem emotionally invested in this game. They had no intensity during the game. I think they were already thinking ahead to the playoffs.
IDK how that happens in the biggest game of the season but it did.....

Wouldn't doubt it if Green was mad at Matrix for choking a free throw in Game 6, which cost him a Finals MVP
TD might have won with his 31-17 that night, it was close...

Yeah he would've been my favorite to win it, but I know Green had that trophy in his mind

Meh...there will always be"player first" fans that care more for an individual than they do a team. My heart bleeds silver and black. As long as they wear those colors I'm a fan of that player. , if I can accept Horry, a former Rocket AND a former Laker, I can accept anyone.
