What does that (wrong) opinion have to do with anything? This is a Lakers thread..La fans keep bringing up the Spurs.

But the fact is LA has been terrible while the Spurs are competing for and winning les. Even if father time has caught up (like you say every year) how come SA is still going to the WCF, Finals and playoffs while LA is a cliffnote?

Spurs are in a much better spot because they are a) a better franchise b) have a great coach c) have stability d) at least have one young piece that is promising.

Lakers have none of that and the Lakers bottom is so far worse than the Spurs bottom (losing in the playoffs in defense of a le the year before vs being a lottery team).
    1) Since 2007, the Lakers went lotto a few times...we both won 2 rangs. I reference that year because that's when The Gift! happened. Bragging about 50+ win seasons means nothing if you don't rang. Case in point: as defending champions with 55 wins, Duncan spit shined DeAndre Jordan's shies...in the first round. #PATHETIC.

    2) 16 >>>>>>>>>>>5* - 'nuff said.

    3) We'll see how promising he is when he's the undisputed #1. He's living the good life as #3. When teams game plan to stop him first snd foremost, let's see how he responds... He should have taken over by now. Sah what you want, but Kobe was fighting for the #1 spot with Shaq (literally). He didn't wait till Shaq turned 39 like KL is doing with Duncan.

Time will tell how my boys do. History says we'll be back. When Jerry West retired we eventually ended up with Magic and Showtime. Then somehow we poached Shaq from a stacked Magic team and drafted Kobe. Shaq and Kobe split. Then we ended up with MVPAU.

We're down now, but history has shown it won't be long before we end with another star. Let's see how y'all survive after Duncan retires.

Duncan is 39 . So you are now (by default) saying Tim is one of the greatest ever and clearly better than Kobe because if Duncan at 39 is still the best player on a team that in the last 4 years has 3 WCF's, 2 Finals and 1 Ring, then he's clear cut better than Kobe. Is that what you are saying?

Also, your point about the FMVP & DPOY not taking over yet at age 23 is moot. It's not about whether or not he's a #1. This is a comparison to LA's talent. Kawhi is better than any young talent LA has currently. So even when Tim retires, Spurs have the same cap space, a better coach, an owner who didn't take all the magic to the grave and young player with proven talent as a 3rd option on a championship level team.

    What's your point again?

If both of these guys pull an Eli and cry their way onto the team they want to play for, I hope they blow out each others' knees going up for a rebound when suiting up for the Lakers and Knicks. Though while Minnesota can be swayed, no way Philly would be.

Not to mention they'd be crazy to want to play with a broken team in LA over having Wiggins for the next decade plus.

(And for what it's worth, Rivers ... traded for Eli ... has been the much better overall QB but hasn't had the elite defenses that have gotten Eli to the promised land)

Ignoring your jibberish, my point is the bolded. All that other you posted means nothing to me.

Jim gave one back when he couldn't score a en layup on Shane Battier. Then he couldn't even get out of the first round as a champ. Asterisk time:

    1999*
    2007**
    2014***

    * 50 game season
** Horry's hipcheck lead to multiple suspensions
*** Loss in the first round of the playoffs with all of your best players healthy to the en Clippers

    Neal with it son.

Ya, that has nothing to do with anything though. watching Laker fan admit they have been facing "dark times" & that they are "optimistic". My, how the "mighty" have fallen.

Kobe has repeated at least once. He also won a Gold Medal at least once. Duncan't. Explain why.

Explain why Tim has never been in the lottery first. Then explain why at 39 Tim's teams are making the playoffs. Then explain why our player scout isn't a bartender on the side

Like Luva said, he did in one year what Duncan couldn't do in 4 years ag WF. Now if we can get him to be guarded by players 4 inches shorter and receive unprecedented ref love, we may have a player on our hands.

Losers mentality or no killer instincts. Two major impediments in Timmy's mentality. Greatness is greedy. Once he wins, he doesn't have the mental for ude to get out of the 1st round, as champion. 2014 = fluke le? It's looking like it tbh.

We know a certain 55 win team won 3 more playoff games than the Lakers did.

That was an insult son. A 55 win team should have won at least 4 playoff games as defending champion .

He's not. He can't make that much. 90M is about the max.
