If boxing only had either top rank or HBO and if the association choose fights it would be so much better.

Too many filler fights nowadys. GGG will probably retire fighting one prominant opponnet

Its unfortunate because its a superior sport to GayFC...but at least the former makes fight happen
    Good argument.

I don't trust GGG for some reason. Fought against too many unworthy opponents.

Boxing is losing mainstream fans. I think its becoming more or a niche sport nowadys. Specially with Mayeather and Pacman out. Those two are the last two "mainstream" popular fighter. It really doesnt look good for boxing. You'd be surprised, but not even other sports fans know who canelo is.

Maywather and Pacman are the last mainstream fighters. Boxing is going to be a niche sport moving forward.
I was for that argument, but a friend of mine told me that after Tyson's prime, we had De La Hoya/Vargar/Trinidad and them boys. Then we had Roy Jones/Hopkins. Then we had Pacman/Morales/Barrera and them boys. Then we had Floyd/Pacman and the show will go on.

    Boxing will be boxing.

And don't forget Mayorga somewhere in that list, kidding but the man always put on a great show.

The problem is that no one wants to fight him either except for ward who GGG himself is ducking. Everyone is essentially ducking eachother nowadys. Floyd set a terrible example for boxing by cherry picking opponets in the later part of his career.

The norm now is to find a populart fighter that you match up well with. Beat them. Start cherry picking.

Boxing is going to continue to decline with mainstream fans, but its always going to have a decent amount of fans. Boxing still is the numero uno fighting sport. I hope it is because GAYfc is terrible.

I agree, getting that 1 on your loss column costs you millions nowadays. Fighters know that.

Mayweahter and Pacman actually built themselv a nice collection of fights before both of them started cherry picking. When both of them become "mainstream", they started to fight less and fight washed up boxers or boxers they know are a good marcthup for them style wise.

Pacman and Mayweather might have set up an ugly practice going forward. Even guys like GGG are taking notes.

Canelo is nice. Hes trying to fight whats in front of him but it takes a few other fighters with the same mentality for boxing to keep mainstream fans watching

Pacman had multiple loses before he become even mainstream. Those Barera/Marquez days was the highlight of his career. Beautiful display of boxing by pacman and whoever he was fighting.

Boxers are so conservative, but they have to understand another way to build a mainstream following is by building a rivalry. Ward-GGG can be a rivalry. Or GGG-Canelo etc...but all thlse fights.might not even happen.

We are to be partially blamed. We buy those fights. I mean Mayweather vs Berto, are you serious? Mayweather vs Ortiz? WTF? Another one Mayweather vs Ghost Geurrero.

Pacquiao fought greater opponents for his size tho.

I know, I'm not blaming you.

I'm blaming the general mass who buy into those hyped BS fight.

And they don't buy fights of those who actually do take a big risk but simply have a 1 on their loss column.

Boxing has taken a hit the last three years with mainstream fans in terms of reputation. I think that in the 5 years, Boxing has been bombarded by sports personalities. Advocating.to not pay for PPV because fghits arent happening.

If this goes on, GAYFC might end up taking the mainstream pieace 10 years from now. Someone needs to step up and build a rivalry roon

We all know Bradley wasn't his usual self during that fight.

Wanted to slug it out because he had something to prove to the fans and took some unnecessary punishment. Dumb strategy in my book.

"GAYFC" does a beautiful job promoting their fighters and hyping up their PPV.

I mean look at that MacCracker, they hyped him up to be a deity or something.

I do think that fan will soon realize the fake hype media of the UFC.

Also UFC doesn't have the rich history that boxing has.

No one cares about rich history

Its the ten years olds of today boxing needs to focus on. Without an "Idol", and with the ty fights. Its going to be impossible to gain new passionate fans to replace the older fans that have died.or just quit boxing...

If UFC is reaching the mainstream kids right now, the talent pool might move towards that direction and thats bad news for boxing.

Actually we need history for promotion. Like the media is saying GSW will beat the Bulls records, etc. Last I checked GSW game has the highest tv rating compared to others.

History is a good promotional tool, just saying.

Don't worry though, UFC's fake media hype will soon catch up to them.

Im saying that the 8-12 years old dont care about history. Its only us that do. Those kids will have their own history with the saint-perres, silvas and aldos...And I can tell you 100% there more kids tuned into UFC than Boxing. Thats, the scary part....

You gotta think ahead here. Those kids are going to be the majority of PPV buyers 10-15 years from now...it doesnt look good for us if todays kids are more familiar with UFC. None of my cousins even know whi GGG is but are very familiar with UFC...

The video games etc also helps.

Dumbass, he got concussed & once a fighter is concussed they can't take punches.

Ou, I guess I struck a nerve there.

Don't get offended for your idiocy. You couldn't answer the question.

And don't you think that I know about the Ruslan fight.

Didn't Pacquiao get a concussion via Marquez? Yet he fought Rios, Bradley (twice) and Mayweather. Look them punches, even a couple of big ones tonight.

So let me get this straight, you are blaming today's knockdown because of the Ruslan fight!!! Dude get lost! Roger Mayweather would say "you don't know about boxing"!

Dumbass, you though you were slick by working your "nobody knocks down Melon head" narrative on a bunch of casual fans.

Melon head didn't come close to getting knockdown in the 1st fight BEFORE he got concussed in the Ruslan fight.

Didn't Pacquiao get a concussion via Marquez? Yet he fought Rios, Bradley (twice) and Mayweather. Look them punches, even a couple of big ones tonight.
Rios was shot, Bradly/Floyd get clowned for lacking power

Answer my previous question, when did Bradley get knocked down prior to the Ruslan fight?

    That question got you butthurt.

Rios was shot, Bradly/Floyd get clowned for lacking power
Rios was shot during the Pacquiao fight! Get the f outta here!

Idiot blaming tonight's knock down due to the Ruslan fight. "You don't know about boxing" - Roger Mayweather
