It was obvious that Deadman was gone in March/April when Pop pointedly buried him in the back of the dog pound.
Thanks for answering. Didn't know that.

Should be the Early Bird exception, Simmons has been on the team for two seasons already. So the starting salary can be around MLE money.
Right - about Simmons, but pretty sure the question was about Pau though.
Ah, my mistake.
Pau and Aldridge is going to be a feast for other teams bigs smh. Soft as Q tip cotton
If I'm late to the game I apologize but...why is Dedmon's cap space a part of the Spurs cap total according to spotrac? Is there a sign and trade in the works with Atlanta?
A disgruntled Aldridge and Gasoft a year older. Ahh, can't wait for those layup lines.
the Spurs never wanted to retain him - Pop had the opportunity to play him way more when the roster got decimated by injuries deep in the playoffs and "refused" (in my view) to give him more time. Done deal.
Probably just haven't updated it yet. It doesn't affect the Spurs' signings because they're operating above the cap, but it could give a false impression that the Spurs have less room under the tax than they actually do.
I'm almost positive that Dedmon's cap figure was originally labeled as a cap hold prior to his signing with Atlanta so that's why I was confused. It may just be a mistake I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
Ya Pop sure showed him.
Pretty sure that it's just a mistake.
It says that he was signed with cap space which shouldn't be possible for the Spurs. With non Bird rights they also can't sign him to a salary that high.
I liked his hustle but his offensive game was awful.
