Could you imagine if Harvey would have gone on the path Steve Browne at KSAT was projecting? If I remember right he had Harvey going to around Pleasanton and stalling, so that we would have gotten outer eyewall rain in SA, then going southwest so we would have gotten outer band rain. Our outer band rain would be nothing like what Houston has gotten and Beaumont and Lake Charles are looking at right now since it would be over land, but it would probably still have dropped 20 inches over lots of the San Antonio area had that path been the one.

Yea after 48 hours of being dragged by social media.. He lied earlier and released a statement saying that Lakewood Church couldn't be used as a shelter because it was flooded. Didn't take long for countless videos and photos from people in Houston to be uploaded that proved that he was a lying sack of and it wasn't even close to flooding near his precious sanctuary, or at least not on the streets or in the auditorium where people could be sheltered. him. He should foot the bill for the food and water that those thousands of people are going to need too.
And then he has the balls to ask that donations to the "relief effort" be made to his personal website..... this ing guy
I think San Antonio would have had a lot less flood damage than Houston had things gone the way Steve Browne predicted. Just better drainage than the Houston area. More deaths though since driving into raging flood waters seems to be considered a fun hobby in SA.
People like Olsteen are a curse on the human race. This year's version of The PTL (Pass The Loot) Club. My thoughts are with the people of Houston.

That being said, it definitely humanizes the tragedy. It's easy to overlook how hundreds have lives are being turned upside down until you see it right in front of you.

He's a prosperity positivity gospel guy... Make no mistake, he is not a "follower of the way". Jesus said to sell your possessions and deny yourself and then to follow him. There's many different sects in Christianity and its sad, but that's how you know it's been tainted. You know true followers of Jesus by sacrifice, healing, and casting out of evil spirits. You know them by their examples of love... Don't be fooled by false prophets who claim one thing but like the Bible says you know the tree by their fruits.
Sorry, i feel the need to clarify cause from the outside looking in it's easy to stereotype Christianity as a whole with all the smear campaigns going on. There's plenty of rich people that are probably doing nothing as well as plenty of regular old people that won't help a cent. But there's a Christian not acting like Jesus... so hypocritical however not right as it is.
So to everyone here who has a perceived noting of Christianity just know there is a difference between "Followers of the Way" and Christians as we know them today.

When it comes to Joel Osteen, its kinda like Trump. You're always preaching to you're own choir. Those that are disgusted with his actions (or lack of) are prob those that didn't support him anyway. Those that support him and his message, will defend him.
I doubt any of his church goers will stop going due to him showing what kind of person he really is.
