Nuclear scientist replaced by Ricky Perry. Chief scientist nomination is talk show host, etc, etc, etc, etc. Senators of both parties have been shocked at the stupidity of nominees.

My take:
I don't think he believes it in the slightest. He is just trolling at this point, and that is really obvious to me.
I think he knows on some level he has lost all credibility and is essentially waving the white flag. He has stopped trying.
I would guess that he even knows that Trump's campaign did actually collude with the Russians, and that Hillary didn't. He is an ass, but not quite this level of dumb.

He will be unable to prove even "one", because the level of proof that the Saudis arrested anyone at Trumps behest would not be available. Any such communication would be, if it existed a closely guarded secret, and certainly classified.

No such communication likely exists, because Trump's administration is too "thin". They can't even concentrate on getting "must pass" legislation through, let alone have someone with enough expertise and knowledge to even know how to ask the Saudis for such a thing, *if* they knew who to go after, which assumes a level of competence that has yet to be demonstrated.
In short, an understaffed, incompetent administration that leaks like a sieve is not a likely agent behind some shadowy arrests in a foreign country.
Occams razor cuts the out of that.

I would not presume to do so, and would instead invite you to clearly state what you think, as the best way to clear anything up.
"a hand in" is a bit ambiguous, IMO. Kind of hard to about people trying to fill in the gaps, if you can't be clear in the first place. Seems to me if you are upset about someone attempting to restate your position, the best way to do that is to clearly and unambiguously state it.
