Cheating’s been in football since always but people sure get salty when the Patriots do it.
It tarnishes their legacy, tbh. Only homers / bandwagoners don't see that.

Are people really surprised or mad about this? This is politics. It’s been dirty for a long time, we are just in the modern age. But dirty smear type campaigns have always existed as well as deception and lies.
Americans aiding a hostile foreign power. People are dying behind this. This goes beyond politics. This whole thing with CA has much more that will come out.

And they didn't just meddle. They interfered.

I agree, Trump’s legacy is tarnished by this.

We were talking about the Pats. But if you want to engage in disassociative behavior, then that's your deal.

Facebook security head Alex Stamos is reportedly leaving the company

Facebook security chief Alex Stamos is reportedly leaving the company after clashing with other members of its leadership over

whether Facebook should be more proactive in handling its role in disseminating falsehoods.

The Times says Stamos had been a forceful advocate for investigating and revealing the company’s role in Russian meddling on the platform

“to the consternation” of executives such as COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Political leaders in the UK and the US have
expressed outrage over how Cambridge Analytica was able to harvest data from 50 million Facebook users.

    US senator Ron Wyden
sent a letter to Zuckerberg today (March 19) seeking information about Facebook’s policies on sharing user data with third parties. Wyden set a deadline of April 13.

Surprised ... well yeah and interested.

Anytime the methodology and possibly connections are mentioned so timely with other things going on its news. This is sneaky stuff. Facebook got used in a very clever way. I applaud the OP bringing it up. Especially Crested Butte. People have learned some very interesting new things about Facebook. At least I have from the cleverness standpoint.

I haven't read everything out there about CA, but did the information gathering break any US laws?

I hope so. Really crappy if not.

Besides violating Facebook's terms of service what actual laws were broken? Be specific.

    Two days?

The stock goes down for several days?

You're not really predicting anything anymore, TSA.

Doesn't appear Cambridge Analytica violated any laws and if anyone broke the law it was Facebook.

I mean, TSA is right here, Djohn.

It's not yet clear to what extent the breach is. In the coming days and weeks it should be clear how and what the damage really is. I'm inclined to think this company along with FB are in some legal trouble.

CA used stolen information, to harvest propaganda. Not mention bribery and entrapment.
