Said it downstairs, but a Nurkic/LMA swap might interest the Guests if Nurkic is gonna be out a significant part of next season.
Why would SA do that? If they want to move on from LMA they can do better than Nurkic. LMA only has like 7M guaranteed in his final year and he’s better than Nurkic next season. So keep LMA then just waive him like Pau.

i want to move on from Derozan asap before he poisons the minds of the younger players with his mentorship and has them chucking like Kobe too. Have Manu and Parker work with White/Murray in the off-season.

If LMA requests a trade again (which he supposedly did in private this past offseason) you know the Guests would be at the top of his list and the Spurs love being seen as doing right by their players. Couldn't see Portland wanting to do it if Nurk was healthy since he fits their team extremely well, but even if Nurkic isn't as good as LMA right now (regular season at least) he fits the mold of a modern NBA Center while being young enough to grow even more. Spurs could also nab one of their Forwards (Harkless?) to help balance the roster and replace Gay.

Nah - that’s awful. If you do that, might as well trade DeRozan too and go with the youth. But if that is the case a team would surely give a first or two for LMA IMO and rather get that than Nurk

I think Nurkic is only guaranteed 4M after next season, so his deal is pretty much the same as LMA that year (LMA guaranteed 7M only after next season). So unless you could get some picks from POR I would not entertain that. I don’t think you can view Nurk as a basketball player next season.

So that would be a rebuild and clear the books for 21’ type move. I think LMA value is decently high still too. A team could get him for 2 years by trading for him next year with an out if they dont want him with his low partial guarantee in year 2.

I think they should definitely break this Aldridge/Derozan core (secretly hoping one them demand trade this summer)..

Having two of that archetype in your team as 1A/1B is either being unserious or flat out incompetent when it comes to competing in Today's NBA

I'd be 100% on board with trading both, but I don't think PATFO would be cool with that much upheaval two years in a row; they'd trade LMA and keep DeRozan unless DeRozan also asked for a trade. I can't see a single team offering a first for LMA unless it was towards the end of the first, and Nurkic is at least better than that (not that I'm that high on him in the first place). This scenario was brought up a while ago but just didn't seem to make sense for either team, but with Nurkic's injury and LMA's disinterest in the postseason it no longer seems farfetched.

They'd make the move hoping to resign Nurkic, but that $3M in savings might be enough for PATFO to pull the trigger tbh. Again, I don't see any teams being willing to offer much for LMA due to his style of play and seemingly diva at ude. Never know though, a team like the Suns may be desperate enough to pull the trigger while offering something of value.

I’ve been a big Davis fan but it’s been unacceptable how bad he’s been this series Idk if teams would do it but if we could trade the 19th pick plus Davis and move up a couple of spots in the draft I’d totally do it, we need a big SF really bad on this team.

I’d be okay shipping DeMar out but I think that makes the spurs look really bad to trade the guy who you got in the kawhi trade lol I can’t imagine us trading LA unless he asks us to and we do him a favor and trade him to Portland but why would Portland do that at this point

getting rid of 10 players on this team would be phenomenal... sucks that our FO don't have the balls to do . I'd rather tank, than watch this losers play for the 8th seed.

we also need fewer dwarves in the list, but the president of operations does not seem to see in the same way, which leads me to believe that maybe he thinks this team does not need real wings.

Not to mention their games do not compliment each other at all - DDR isn't that great in PNR/PNP and as we have seen this playoffs team don't even bother to guard him until he nears the FT line contributing to poor spacing for LMA in post

spurs need to get rid of 2/3 of the roster. If it was me I'd only keep White, Murray, Walker, Aldridge and Poeltl. You can keep Forbes too since he's on a cheap deal. Send Metu to the G-League team. Don't resign the expiring contracts and trade everybody else

Maybe DeRozan + extra (picks?) Could get ... Blake Griffin?

Broken down higher paid, more years, ego player

But at least he isn't too mentally fragile to shoot threes

    Dream on.

The Spurs would have to pick up $10 million of the tab to move DDR in this league.

    It would be worth it.

Boston needs a big and they have 3 first round pick if they don’t get Uni Brow they might be open to trade.

They already have too many ball-dominant players, it'd make no sense to add another.
