This has to be the longest regular season game thread for a game that hasn't started yet. Is it because I started it a couple days earlier or is it a testament to the strong hatred for Load Management?
he is polarizing on this forum tbh. most of us are in the nephew crowd but there are definitely a few knob slobbers in here who love to semen shield for him

we can say leonard without being PATFO apologists. just because i think Leonard is a made got who quit on his team and used his injury as excuse to leave SA because his uncle brainwashed him, doesnt mean i dont think PATFO royally ed up by trading him for peanuts and not bending over backwards to try and keep him

I question the Spurs fandom of those who do semen shield for him, tbh. But as for not bending over backwards to try and keep him, that is something I am glad they didn't do. They stuck to their principle and didn't encourage ty behavior from a ty human being. PATFO aren't perfect and they have ed up a few times but they did the best they could with Load Management while maintaining their dignity and morality...IMO.

I'm not 100% sure of Popovich playing everybody tonight vs the no PG Clippers. Not much to win and some to risk in the long term morale battle that Pop likes to play during RS when playing potential playoff rivals.

Everybody will be looking at nephew's match-up (Murray?) but there some other things to pay attention to:

    - Clippers' rim protection weakness. Zubac hasn't played Aldridge a lot so that's the second most interesting matchup. Murray and DeRozan will continue attacking the rim and it doesn't look like this Clippers team can collapse the paint very efficiently. They rely on very good 1on1 defenders and those individual matchup will be key. If Spurs creators can leave behind their men, Clippers defense could collapse.

    - The second weak point is on court direction. As with his defensive plan, Rivers' offensive plan is based on individual abilities. Whithout true PGs in terms of playmaking, the two All-Stars must generate shots not only for themselves but for everybody else. Lou Williams has a key role for them every season and he's even more important now they don't have George. If Derrick White and Poetl can keep him under control then their second unit will struggle to score.

    - Spurs team defense has to show up today. Taking care of the ball is another must. You can't expect to beat a le contender making unforced mistakes.

    - DeJounte Murray playing the toughest PG in the league. What's going to happen? PG battle should have a great impact in the game.

    - Suprising X factors? Harrell under the boards? Shamet? Which bench plays better?

If Popovich doesn't give rest to anybody, it could be a very interesting game.

agree mostly, i don't think they should have given Uncle a role in the FO or anything like that but they should have at least given Leonard whatever special treatment he wanted. i get it goes against our principles but its not really that big of a deal, especially considering the coach clearly plays favorites with certain players anyway. I just felt more could have been done, but then again after that team meeting hit the fan and it was probably unnameable by that point anyway

At first I thought TP saying his injury was alot worse didn't help matters any but he's a proud Spur and didn't appreciate that bull . Yes, he ed a teammate's wife but he didn't let that affect the team's play in a negative way and remained on the team even when he was starting to develop a "Hollywood" personality. He was loyal to the franchise and didn't pull primadonna .

That would make my night if someone punched Unk on live television, or preferably with a baseball bat.

Pop invented Load Managing but he usually does it on the 2nd of back to backs, NOT on the first. This isn't about "long term morale" against potential playoff rivals, it's about YOU KAWHI, period.

Pat Beverly score 31 Pts, cause his main defender will be Bellinelli who plays 25 Mins on 1 to 10 Shooting from 3.

My one fear is Beverly trying to injure Murray as he's one of the dirtiest players in the league.

I think the benches are going to be a big factor in tonight’s game. It will be important for Derrick White to contain Lou along with keeping up with him in scoring. It’s going to be tough for Patty and Beli to score against these guys, hopefully Lonnie gets some time.

if White comes off the bench and is aggressive offensively and looking to score the ball while checking Lou I like our chances, but Pop will only probably play him 20 minutes so yeah.

When Bev is on the court you need to kind of keep an eye on him cause he don’t give a if he wrecks your knee

I never thought I'd see the day when the Spurs, the winningest franchise in history, would be looking up to the ing Los Angeles Clippers, the losingest franchise in history. But here we are.
