So now my power is turning on for 5 minutes every 20 minutes or so. This is really annoying. I'd rather it stay on longer then off for longer. 5 minutes is barely enough time to heat up in the microwave.

I have a house right next to Brooks AFB and another right next to Lackland AFB. I've had power and water to both all day. Surprised to hear theres so many outages around the city, tbh.
Still nothing? Damn that sucks.
Not expecting anything until this time tomorrow at the soonest. Could be worse. Only two pipes blocked so far. May get by without a burst. In the mid 50s inside today. Charging everything up now.
Yeah we don't get to make fun of northerners when they get a dose of our normal weather since they are falling over dead.

Well... we bailed. No power at all now, no water, and this morning the fire alarm in my building goes off and wakes everybody up at 0600. Called the fire dept, but they said unless we see an active fire/emergency it's up to the building management to assess the problem. Those ers have been MIA since this all started. They did send out a mass email at midnight last night to remind tenants to turn their heaters on and drip their faucets to avoid frozen pipes.
So we packed a bag and made it to my parents' house (who we've been avoiding because of COVID). Going to at least look for a hotel or something for a couple days.
Settle down with the sanctimony. You can’t even get electricity or running water because of 20 degree weather and it’s been 2 days already.

In NE side of SA, just got electricity back but still don't have water. Don't know how long we'll have electricity for.

Do people not understand that cities adapt best to the environment they are in.
This just does not happen here.
Lets let it go from single digits to 90 F anywhere. How about a week of each, alternate ... oh! thats not even the fckn desert, its more like Mars.
And we will survive. But there are a of a lot of homeless down here that do NOT have proper shelter which is, amazingly, why they are here! they think the winter will be warm and they can hang without shelter. Jokes on you bums under I-10...
Never lost power here but the pipes have been frozen all day. Been using snow for the toilet like several STers here.
Haven't had power since Sunday night.
Right now in SA there’s icy rain and then there’s 60% chance of snow on Thursday with ac ulation between 1-2”. Crazy
