The Spurs shot 43 free throws last night. 20 more than the Jazz. When was the last time that happened?
NBA officiating is anything but consistent which always suggests alternative motives.

The Spurs are attacking the rim more, J-Rich, Keldon, Lonnie, Vassell. These guys love to dunk. I just wish Poeltl will.

I’m wondering what to make of Landale/Zollins pairing? Pop giving Landale some burn to earn his contract? Zollins seems not too shy to push around Whiteside, albeit they used to be teammates at Portland and Zollins could be familiar with him at scrimmage. But Zollins relishes contacts and would not backdown his spot. It was a nice offensive game for Zollins. Can he play a Ryan Anderson-type stretch big?

^and he’s a lottery pick. I wonder what his ceiling. Him closing the 4th was not shocking, and scoring 13 in the half with a couple of 3’s? was intriguing.

I know J-Rich started tonight, but if he can bring that production with the 2nd unit, along with Lonnie and Zollins, the 2nd unit is set.

If J-Rich can continue this production the rest of the season, it would be hard not to keep him permanent. The guy has a lot of dog in him. Likewise Zollins. You can see him fighting for the rebound, boxing out, giving everything out there. Great pickups.
I've been less impressed with Zollins, but I'll give him a pass because he is coming off crazy injuries and hasn't played in like 2 years. He was very talented before, but it remains to be seen if he can return to that level. He still just seems to be playing out of control sometimes.

As for Richardson...I like what I see. He's not lighting up the stat sheet yet, but he's hit some big shots and generally just seems to have bought in and been accepted by the team. As long as he doesn't demand some big money, I'd like to see him stick around.
