Heard during the broadcast that Sunday's game versus Memphis will be the first time since November Spurs have had a rest advantage over their opponent? That's some absurd scheduling by the NBA.

This was a good, entertaining loss.

Adam Silver absolutely despises the Spurs for not shuttling Kawhi over to the Lakers.

We traded a 2nd plus Thad to move up in the draft, not a 1st straightaway. It was a swap of about 13 slots or whatever.

And it did entail some element of risk. The TOR pick was protected, meaning it could have ended up being Thad + a high 2nd for a couple of future seconds (though it did eventually convey). I recall there were periods where it wasn't completely a shoe-in that TOR would escape the play-in (they ended up 4 games ahead of the play-in, and only 5 games back of the 1 seed. Tight eastern conference last year).

Huh, hadn't really looked at the teams in the 20-30 range. Basically, all the top teams have traded away their first round picks this year. Everyone who would do such a thing (this year) are pretty tapped out. I still think there's a market for Bojan Bogdanovic, Eric Gordon, and maybe our two Richardson and McDougie, but future picks might have to be the thing.

Good point. Toronto kept Thad for this year. They drafted Koloko, who looks promising, although more down the line. I think the Spurs certainly 'won' the trade since, well, I like Wesley, although...

Wait, it was for Branham. Yeah, I'd say that was a good positive for the Spurs. Branham is already contributing and showing a couple superior skills, though he has a ways to go.

Glad we got it last year, or, with their crash and burn this year, it would have become two seconds. Usually, you get three cracks at a FRP.
