Nah. Spurs aren't like those others. Spurs are largely just not thought of or disregarded. Those others have high profiles and are definitely hated.
Lol, people on social media already hating on the Spurs after they set the attendance record. Fortunately I've been a very lucky fan in that I've been able to witness all 4 of my favorite sports teams (San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, Texas Longhorns) win a championship, but all 4 of them are easily the most hated by their respective leagues, the media, and the fans.

Success breeds jealousy, but in the Astro's case... I can understand.
And the Cowboys haven't had great success in a long while, while stilll being the 2nd most popular sports franchise in the world and that ticks people off.
UT is UT.
Ehhh I'm not so sure about that. Actually I'm pretty sure that ESPN and the like despise the Spurs. I think they brainwashed the outta fans with that bias over the years. I also see what people post on social media, YouTube, etc and it's pretty clear most people don't like the Spurs as well. Again, it has alot to do with the brainwashing from ESPN. They really started this (ESPN's hate on the Spurs) in the 2003-2004 season. I remember it like yesterday.

Honestly, I was upset at the Astros for cheating, like dissapointed in them, though don't get me wrong I stuck with them and am happy about the redemption chip. I will say this, it's already been said by players who've never even played on the Astros that they were made the scapegoats and we're absolutely not the only team that was cheating. I always figured that was the case anyways.
This year's redemption tour was crucial to their long term status as one of the sport's best team runs which they're currently on. Level Up.
Yessir, agreed on that!
Worst point differential
ESPN trolling us by sprinkling in Nephew as we getting blown out. Well done BSPN![]()
The Coyote is rolling over in his grave…
Not surprised by the outcome. When the opposing team “shows”’up to play - this Spurs team gets annihilated. GSW are front running show ponies, they were going to show up for this spectacle.
Hopefully the Spurs have put themselves in a position to start acquiring high end talent. They have to nail the next draft regardless of position.
did anyone go to the game that has pictures of the upper deck or could atleast say how full it was? I know the tickets were sold but I saw a lot of people trying to sell their tickets as well so wonder how many bought but did not show up as they only bought to resale.
Yeah I was thinking the same. We were setting records in multiple ways. When I originally saw this game what stopped me from going was thinking a colossal beatdown in front of over 65,000 people was not going to be fun.
I hope the fans had fun nonetheless.
There is a clip on spurs reddit of the crowd doing the wave that shows the full attendance in uppers and lowers and man I was really impressed how full the entire building looked. Pretty much every seat top to bottom was filled.
Thanks. I knew it would be pretty full. It looked like the corners were not packed but hard to tell. Im sure the tickets were sold but not sure how many showed up. I was glad they brought back the intro song from back then.
also looked like the "end zones" had more more sparsely seated people with little openings visible here and there. Feels like the angle was kinda tough in those sections with almost a head on or even below court viewing angle.
even the "50 yard line" seats down close were too head on with little to no elevated vantage point above the court looking down onto it. Almost better to be up in higher seating looking down for this one
Gawd, I hate the Wave. Can we please put that to bed SA!?!
i was seated directly behind the guy that got the wave going (club level). he was trying from the 2nd quarter on. at first, i was annoyed because he wouldn't quit and was obstructing my view but when he started again in the 3rd quarter, and the game was already in hand, we started to get behind him. it took a while to get the nearby sections to cooperate and he had to yell down below (he was in the 1st row) to get the lower level to join in. but after about five minutes, it started to gather momentum. once we got about a third of the dome to get going that was all it took. that dude was so happy. i'm sure it made him even happier to see that ESPN even acknowledged it and that red even participated. very cool stuff. and that's what made the night so great. just lots of little details that really demonstrated what being a spurs fan is all about.
Classic moment, what a night. It was a really fun idea to bring the town together and set a record.
