Tatum hasn't played a single minute

I kinda get it with Haliburton, but Tatum just won a championship (or rather, was carried to one by his teammates)

Jaylen Brown wasn’t even selected, and he was the Finals MVP. FIBA ball is just different. I would argue that White and Jrue are two of the five most important players on the roster for their ability to shoot AND defend at a high level. Most international teams are either guard or big man centric, unlike the NBA which is wing centric. You need to be able to deal with the guards and bigs.

I thought DWhite was the odd man out. Now I get FIBA basketball like you said, very guard heavy so you need defenders who can also be a threat from the outside. He showed how valuable he was today.

Embiid was easily the worst player today.
Idk what's up with him, but he looks like he's either not healthy or out of shape.
His style of basketball also doesn't work when the team is so stacked.

Kerr will never do it, but AD and Bam should be the center rotation going forward.
Elite defenders that don't stop the ball on offense.

Booker adapted well to the spot up shooter role.

    Jrue/Derrick
    Steph/Booker
    Edwards/Lebron
    KD/Tatum
    AD/Bam

That would be my rotation. Two perimeter players who primarily look to drive and kick, two shooters that and an elite defensive big. Keep it simple.
No need for two bigs on the floor unless it's France.

Btw, Jokic was at 0 +/- today.
Serbia were 3-29 without him, lmao.
He can't catch a break and get some competent teammates.

Lot of good plays by both teams. Some sloppy stuff too, but a lot of excellent plays. Final score not indicative of how close game was.

Durbetta shooting was top notch. Definitely swung the game in the US favor. Lebron and Bookerdashian had some hot shooting too in spots.

A little surprised Kerr left Stefina Curry in when he had that injury bump. Though precautionary lift was in order. Oh well all is well that ends well.

Serbia def not intimidated by US nor or any teams at this point.

No disagreement there. White didn't score a lot today but played great defense, ran the offense, and was a part of the run that got US back in the game in the 2nd quarter.

The reason I am is because Tatum wants to act like he is a superstar, but he is a tier below guys like LeBron, Steph, KD, etc...and it's showing now.

This isn't an All-Star game where every player is guaranteed 5-10 minutes. This is real compe ion and every team needs glue guys like DWhite or Jrue...you can't just have 5 Alphas out there trying to prove they are the best.

Tatum was quite good in the last Olympics for team US. Was their most consistent player aside from Durant

Embiid is clearly not in shape following his latest knee issue. The 76ers better hope it's a combination of that, rust and not being as suited for the FIBA game/role of non offensive hub and not decline because if he so much as slips from MVP to All-NBA caliber, their championship hopes go with.

I realize the coaching staff has to play politic games, but on merit Durant, Tatum, Davis, Holiday, James should start, with Booker and White playing the most off the bench. Then mix and match the remaining five (Curry, Edwards, Embiid, Adebayo, Haliburton) based on matchup/whoever is playing better for the final 3 rotation spots.

Embiid has been laughably ineffective tbh

i didn’t see that coming. Thought the physical interior play would translate to the fiba game, but nope

Embiid isn't physical anymore. He's just a flopper that gets less calls in FIBA ball.
And his moves aren't quick enough, he stops the ball way too much considering how easy it is to score for everyone around him.

The thing is, you’re not going to sit a KD or LeBron to play him, and he kind of sucks in a supporting role.

    Wrong on multiple counts.

These aren't bigs or small guards, they're big wings. You can play more than two simultaneously without diminishing returns.

I'd also argue Tatum is better in a supporting role since he's not a great pull up shooter or play maker.

I should have said that I'm not in the US. Sort of was looking for an international option. I also have a VPN if required to access whatever service, but then again, if it's paid for (country specific), probably can't pay for it not being in that country.
So I'm basically looking if there is any international services offering it. If not, any free channels I could probably access via VPN.

I'd bet him not playing was more about giving Durant minutes since he's coming back from injury and needed a game to apparently show everyone that he doesn't miss many shots in the Olympics. I bet Tatum plays a lot in the next game and they rest or reduce minutes for Durant and Lebron.

    That is what Kerr said.
