ROFL Cosmic's panties are in a bunch about Harris going after the cartels that are robbing us blind at the grocery store.

Hope is making a comeback, Mic e?

    Really?

What part of hope is a 45% capital gains tax?

What part of hope is 20% inflation?

    I’m not hopeful with Kamala.

My panties are fine. Price controls have never worked. My question was how would they actually work this time? IMHO it's just more bull pandering for votes from low information voters. I don't expect anything to actually be done after the election.

We're seeing what absolutely doesn't work right now: letting a few companies gobble everyone up and form cartels to over both buyers and producers, but the only things more American than capitalist middlemen looting wealth is apple pie and school shootings. I mean I'd rather slit the throats of these leeches than price cap them, that would probably work better.

Quick Google since you struggle with it, computer repairman.

    "
Rockford City Council has agreed to settle a federal lawsuit with a pharmaceutical company accused of gouging the city over the price of a drug needed to treat two children diagnosed with a rare infant epilepsy disorder.

Express Scripts will pay the city of Rockford $3.3 million to cover the cost of the drugs plus fees..."

"SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In a victory for consumers, Washington state’s Supreme Court today filed an opinion in an active class-action lawsuit filed against Amazon.com accusing the world’s largest online retailer of price-gouging during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to attorneys at Hagens Berman."

That was 2 in a 30 second Google search. I'm not gonna hold your hand any more on that

You certainly have the option of your local farmers markets and local meat markets. That's what we do a lot of.

The issue is that groceries have inelastic demand similar to health care. That subsumes a lot of the negative predictions.

And you do what to fix it? I'm not arguing but legitimately rather asking for a logical and clear way to do price controls on something as complicated as the food chain and groceries. Let's circle back to this topic in 2 years and I guarantee you kamala won't have done anything.

Break companies like Cargill, JBS, Tyson, and the like up and put their owners and top executives in prison for collusion and how much money they have stolen from all of us.

I don't think the voters would like empty meat counters at HEB. Google pictures of Russian grocery stores to see how central planning of food supply and pricing works.

Plus, every one of those you mentioned are public companies whose stock is owned by private individuals and pension funds. Maybe even your retirement fund if you have one

Obviously nothing will happen because Kamala's politics are way closer to yours than they are mine or the base that votes against the GOP since she's the establishment candidate of a very right wing democratic party. LOL you using socialist boogeyman scare tactics for a problem created by capitalist centralized control.

I don't think she is conservative at all. I just think she is on the adrenaline ride and will say whatever she thinks she needs to say to get elected. What a ed up choice again. Delusional Trump and incompetent Kamala. You would think this country could do better.
