the Suns cannot be more useless, it's not possible. Soft, soft, soft. Them and the Mavs. We're gonna go throught the West like a hot knife through butter.

One scary question: could the Spurs have won this game if they were in Detroit's position?

no way in they woulda won. if anything the spurs would be the team up 25 only to blow it in the 2nd half. thats the scary thing about detroit, they truly dont just turn on the switch from game to game, they turn it on from quarter to quarter, the pistons have had at least twice as many impressive wins than the spurs and just when i think the pistons are about to slip and we have a good shot at beating them without HCA they put a check on the rest of the league. SA just isn't ready for detroit though i pray to god i'm wrong

Five seconds isn't that much time.
It's longer than the four seconds they gave Phoenix.

The spurs don't need to worry because the spurs play for the whole 48 mins that they don't dig a hole for themselves like that. (forget about back to back games).
The pistons should not have been down by 17 points at the first half. But the way they turned the game around is pretty impressive.
Again, I hope the pistons will play solid defense for 48 mins in the playoffs, not just 24 mins.

There's much more at stake in the playoffs - I'm sure the pistons will play 48 minutes.

First of all, the Pistons have been down big in the playoffs before. Last year against Philly, the Pistons got down big in one of their games. And, in their championship year in 2004, the Pistons got down by double digits to the New Jersey Nets in game 6, an elimination game.

However, it's not always "not playing the full 48 minutes" that gets the Pistons in trouble. Basketball is a game, a sport. Sometime a good team can get a lot of good open looks but the ball just doesn't go in the basket. And, as in the case of Milwaukee the other night, sometimes the inferior team just shoots the heck out of the ball. I mean, Michael Redd was hitting fade-away 3-point shots with a hand in his face. He wasn't even looking at the basket and his shots were going in all net. It happens.

Now, it's not to say that the Pistons couldn't have played better defense, especially in transition in the first halves of the Milwaukee and Phoenix games. They most certainly could have. But, you gotta give credit to those two teams as well for playing extremely well and shooting the ball extremely well from the perimeter.

Yea I understand and I agree with you. There are bad teams in the league, but there are always good players on those teams. Sometimes they just can't miss a shot on any given night against any teams. The pistons are definitely a good team because they can find a way to win when they are in a difficult situation.

But when compare to the spurs, I do see some problems in the pistons the spurs don't have. Both the pistons and spurs are good at finishing the game. If you let them tie the game with two mins to go, they ususally win. But sometimes watching the pistons game is not good for my pressure when they blow their big lead, or when they are down by double digits and try to tie the game at 4th quarter. That doesn't happen alot to the spurs. The spurs usually don't struggle to hold the lead. How many times have they let teams come back from a 10+ points deficit this season?

I am a dieheart pistons fan but honestly, the pistons don't look like a champion to me if compare to the spurs. The spurs are a deeper, more talented, more complete team. Ginobili sits out, Tony Parker sits out, Horry sits out, Tim Duncan plays thru pains. But this team has only two more loses than the hungrier pistons. That's pretty scary. The pistons are hard to beat but they are not unbeatable. What makes them so good is their character -- they play with heart, they don't fear any hard situation, they don't fear to play physical defense, and most importantly, they love playing with eachother. A team like this is built for the playoffs. This is a great team. But better than the spurs? I say no. What makes me confident they can beat the spurs is I believe their mental toughness and their character will lead them to the champ.
