    You sir, are directionaly challenged.

I was going to say ... boutons lives about 1/2 mile away from me. I went outside about this time last night and almost got blown off my back patio the wind was so strong.

Don't look at the map ... look out your windows...you're trees aren't supposed to be horizontal.

Some serious rain, 1" to 3"!!!, did make it to SA.

SW, wind isn't water. In these last 10 months of drought, I've had plenty of wind, shredding my foliage, and lightening storms that didn't produce more than a "trace" 0.1" of rain at my house.

These radar maps, esp the animated ones, on radar.weather.gov are very accurate, to the pixel level.

On the above image, I live just on the s/w edge of the "a" in San Antonio.

When I'm getting rain, the radar map shows me getting rain.

If that point s/w of the "a" doesn't get doesn't get colored as rain, I haven't received rain.

Manny came up lucky in OT. Finally hit a couple big shots!

The Salado Creek at 410/Los Patios is WAY up this morning.

We were scrambling around trying to turn our garage into a 2-car garage again...which is a pain in the ass when part of the reason it's not is because of 3 bookcases...

We had the same 2-3 inch hail warnings out of 4x4 Doppler..they were pinpointing the locations about a mile away from the house! Thankfully we didn't get any of that crap...but we did get 60-90 seconds of some dumping a bucket of marble-sized stuff on us. Don't think there was any car damage...but there are oak clippings all over the place.

You can't look at the radar pinpointed movement of the storms because the individual cells die within half an hour. You have to look at the trends to see where they were building. It was obvious that line was going to come into SA.

I sat here telling Jess for hours before it happend that those 2 lines were going to have their outflows meet right over SA. When that happens, the air only has one direction it can go which is UP. Thats why those storm tops were so damn high. When the 2 gust fronts colide they both transfer horizontal energy into vertical energy.

Round 2 is coming today, but it should'nt be as severe. This could be a weekend of drougth relief though. And that would be a damn good thing

I should have trusted Manny. Guess who didn't put the truck in the carport in back and had to get up at 12:30...in a driving cold rain...and move it in case it hailed?

Holy the KSAT dude is a moron. "If you take al ook at my pants you will see that they are wet"

    x a billion.

I saw that, when I came back in (soaking wet and cold) from moving the truck. They're so pathetic when they have said all there is to be said and are still having to fill up dead air.

Last night's storm was crazy! I took a few pics from outside my front door of all the hail on the ground..

And I took those before it got so worse.. I've never heard hail so loud in my life!! I live in the huebner/vance jackson area and we took a beating. Part of our tree fell right next to the driveway & barely missed my car. This morning I drove down my street and saw huge branches on the ground of nearly every house.

"the individual cells die within half an hour."

Those radar images seem to be sampled and udpated about every 6 minutes. In their one-hour animation loop, there are 10 images, fine enough sampling for sufficiently accurate picture, esp the animations showing the movement of rain.

MANNY MANNY times I've correlated the radars pixels and rainfall levels with what I see in my yard.

As the the storm was bearing down to glance along the n/e edge of Bexar county, there was some stuff coming up form the valley, but that pooped out, and storm hit north of Bexar county head-on.

Manny how true is this statement:

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL SATURDAY MORNING...There will be another chance today of strong to severe t-storms, some will be capable of producing large hail and strong winds... A frontal boundry should be draped across the area Saturday so t-storm chances will continue... A slight chance for t-storms will be in the forecast for next week...High temps by mid week will be hot in the mid 90's with a slight chance of t-storms... Hope you have a great day---- Paul Mireles

, you said rain - not Hurricane Manny. My apartment complex is littered with fallen trees and there is a 2 inch thick layer of leaves. I was on the other side at a poker game, but I came back to a ing disaster area.

    Thanks a lot, dip .

I think we saw a tornado today. Was visiting friend in leon valley and I said

"what's that noise". His GF said "oh just an airplane"

About 5 minutes later it was getting louder. I was like "hey .. that noise is getting louder man wtf"...

It was like a train... I was like oh I think it's a tornado. We looked up and could see a funnel cloud but it was not touching down and as soon as it started it was gone the sound poof gone too. At it's loudest when we started running it was like standing right behind a 747... loud as . I thought we where gonners for a second.

    Scared the out of us...
