All Dallas did on defense was grab Duncan, so of course the Spurs shot a lot of FTs...
There were questionable calls ALL SERIES both ways, and there have been questionable calls in this series both ways.

You have to understand that my argument isn't even that the Spurs got preferential treatment--it's simply that the calls even out over time. Mavs had the ref advantage in games 2 3 and 4, Spurs had it in 1 5 6 and 7.

And again in the WCF, it evens out. Harris was called for a BULL offensive foul at the end of Game 1 which the Suns end up winning. Suns get a likely bull 24 second non-call in Game 3 which the Mavs end up winning. It evens out.

Mavs would have the advantage because nobody on the Heat can slow down Dirk, whereas Howard is feasibly capable of at least holding Wade to 20 or so points every now and again.

Shaq, nobody can stop him. You just have to hope he gets into foul trouble or has a day where he can't get good lift.
Actually, Diop and Dampier is a pretty nice tandem for defending Shaq. You might foul him a fair bit, but he's not going to bull through either of those guys for the easy and-1.

You think so? I have my doubts that either of them can slow him down.

You might be right. He is older and slower these days, and Diop and Damp are big guys....

Javie's so dumb he'll admit he got it wrong even when he got it right...They showed it only once at that angle but it grazed the rim before hitting the backboard. TNT should spend more time showing the game than talking to Hasslehoff or TP...it's annoying really.
I'm not saying I agree that it hit the rim, but they kept showing stupid angles. Thats what pisses me off, is that they sit there debating a call (or no call) while pondering if its right on the wrong angles. An above the rim or ground cam would have shown if it did (or did not) touch the rim. That's all they had to show (and yes, I know they have these angles), not the same damn angle from half court that doesn't help at all.

Diop and Dumpy will be in foul trouble from the get go, particularly Diop and Mav fans will be whining about the unfirness of them getting "touch" fouls call on them trying to sumo wrestle Shaq like they did Duncan.

yeh its easy to see the Mavs are better , they can play the suns way or slow it down , play some D and still win

its all good, Spurs fans are just jealous coz the Spurs can't match the Mavs

Mavs are clearly the best team in the NBA at the moment. Pistons are average and the Heat im yet to decide on, a Mavs-Heat finals will be interesting. Who will stop Dirk and Howard and who will stop Wade and Shaq?
Who gave you a right to speak? Please cease talking until your team makes it out of the first round.

even old and slow, they will need mbenga's 6 fouls too. dallas would have to hope for him picking up offensive fouls. the best center in the wnba will not come close to holding shaq back.

Sigh. I love it when people call other people " ing stupid" as they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore?gid=2005112514 Wade 7/19 for 23 pts

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore?gid=2006020906 Wade 6/13 for 16 points.

Guess who defended Wade in both those games. Tell me more about how stupid I am, though.

You guys ing about the refs again??? Your acting as if the refs could have seen the play on slow motion...it was a long fast shot that hit the board(not sure if it grazed the rim or not hard to tell) that without replay everyone would have probably agreed with the call. The crowd only reacted only after the replay, and then you guys out the refs....
Clearly we outplayed the Suns in the second half with some good defense and hustling for the rebounds(reason why we really won), especially at the end of regulation. So stop your BS ing that I hear after every ing game with the suns, aside from game one becase they won...hmm)which aslo happened the same way with the Spurs series.

because the regular season is the same as the playoffs, much less the finals Detroit, which is the far better defensive team can't stop wade how does dallas?

holy i just realized one of those games was from nov. before riley and Shaq was still injured. Are you serious? Honestly it's a good match up because the heat's bench is as good or better then dallas', so it comes down to individual match up and dallas doesn't have an answer for shaq or wade while posey and walker can guard dirk.

Maybe it didn't hit the rim, but it's an easy mistake for the officials to make given how close it was.

Nobody's going to stop Shaq. And your guys are going to rack up the fouls, like they did against Timmy.

But compare Diop and Damp with guys like Krstic or Ilgauskas or Kaman -- a lot of centers aren't nearly strong enough to keep Shaq from pushing them around all game. Your guys can come pretty close to holding their own on the block, which means that when he draws hard contact, he may not also get the basket.

That's mostly what you want when defending Shaq. The only thing that would be better would be guys who could also make Shaq work his ass off on offense, but those guys are really hard to find.

Oh give me a break. Wade isn't playing any better in the playoffs than he was playing in the early season. He's been kicking ass all year.

Your bitterness is pretty astounding though. And it's quite humorous how, when confronted with facts that completely disproved your bull argument, you resort to "buhhh uhhh ummm well it's the playoffs!!!!"

Pathetic. Get back to me when you can substantiate an argument with something other than pure conjecture.

I don't know why but this is driving me crazy...I can't believe these people(Barkley, Smith) get so much money and don't even pay attention to the game. They only showed it once at the angle but it showed it grazing the rim which led it to hit the backboard...Javie made the right call and they show all the crappy angles over and over again but don't show the one at the best angle.

WTF is your point. Wade still played well in those games. This is the playoffs. Who the is Howard guarding now? J. Jones? House? His ass will be in for a wake up call if Howard meets him in the playoffs. Is he 100% after the ankle injury. He might needs some extra wrap around it just because it might get tweaked.

7 for 19 (36%) on your home court is "good" for a top 8-10 NBA player?

    Ok. If you say so.

You are really ing stupid if you think Wade played the regular season at anywhere near the level he's playing at right now.

they have as much to show for this season as the Nuggets
Considering the league gives players bonuses for how far they make it in the post-season, I'm going to have to disagree.
