Look...you think just because your team is about to win a championship you are all of sudden going to be universally loved and respected by fans of every other team?

Wrong. It doesn't work that way. It works just the opposite...after you win, everyone is going to be discounting your victory, saying their team could have taken yours if only...excusing it.

All winning does is put you on everyones radar...and the things they will say are not going to be complimentary...credit and open respect is the absolute last thing you will get. You'll see your team get trashed and dissed more now than you have ever seen it before, no matter the forum.
Before...the Mavericks probably wouldn't even be discussed on a lot of other forums...now they will be, and it's going to be negative.

Winning doesn't make your team loved and respected by fans of other teams, it makes it hated...resented, envied.


In sports, hatred is a form of a respect(although not in this case, on this board)...I suggest you learn to look at it that way and not attempt to control things beyond your control.

If the Pistons were the Mavs or Pistons fans behaved as Mavs fans do, there would be lots of Pistons bashing going on here. Alas, that is not the case. Trust me when the little Laker "fans" were trolling around Spurs boards back in the day, there was lots of Lake bashing and lots of whining from Laker fans about said bashing. The point is this is a SPURS board, for SPURS fans to talk about (you guessed it) the SPURS and things that relate to the SPURS. Did you see "Mavs" anywhere in that sentence?

As for the traffic, maybe if all of you Mavs fans stopped trolling around on other teams boards and learned how to communicate about your team and the rest of the league amongst yourselves instead of just starting trouble at other fansites, there would be more traffic at a mavs board. Of course, I'm not gonna hold my breath.
