Props to Buddy Holly. He is one of the few who step up for San Antonio against the negative, talking trolls who spew forth the same boring, predictable jabs.
I agree with you 100%. I just couldn't get the words out straight to not get the beat out of me in the thread after saying it.
Props to Buddy Holly. He is one of the few who step up for San Antonio against the negative, talking trolls who spew forth the same boring, predictable jabs.
The obvious comparison between the new rag and the Current is:
he doesn't read, and uses as a Bill Miller tea coaster.
Get a sense of humor. Someone obviously stole yours.
Get a ing life.
If I want to prop Buddy Holly, I will.

It's not about "stepping up" for SA. It's about having an HONEST discussion about the long-term viability of such a magazine in the city. It's an underrepresented market for sure, and there is genuine interest. But enough to sustain it long-term? I don't think so. If thinking that this magazine won't last more than 8 months is being a troll, then I better start registering some new screen names.
is it true johnny blaze does a regular article on this magazine?
I was more talking about some of the other comments, but I did take exception with your initial post.
We'll see if you are right. There is significant growth with emerging scenes. If people keep spending money on arts and entertainment, as well as other aspects of urban development, there is potential for success. I applaud their efforts.
Sorry but I agree with the former poster. You and the rest of the crew were acting like assholes in this thread. Funny, but assholes.
I'm sure the magazine knows that they aren't catering to the majority of San Antonians and that's obviously not what they are trying to do. They are trying to create a niche magazine. I don't see why it wouldn't survive in it's niche if it's done well. It's been distributed in high end salons and other such places. So don't worry none of you will ever see it![]()
you can do alot of things when you owe elpimpo 20 bones
yeah i would not trust that johnny blaze fella for nothin. if he's making 6 figures, surely he can afford 20 bones, but actually pimpo would be a for bickering over such an old debt. thats exactly how mookie gets out of his debts![]()
whoa the reappearance of big slave
I totally admit to being an asshole in this thread. But I also posed an honest question- will this magazine survive long-term. I simply don't think it will. That doesn't make me a snob, that makes me realistic. When you launch a new magazine in a mid-size city that only caters to a very small part of the populace of the mid-size city, it's hard to do. If it were more of a regional publication I think it would do much better. Just my opinion. I did applaud their efforts in a previous post in this thread.
Well it depends on what they want to do with it. I can make a low-budget magazine next week and sell it to only 1,000 people and it can survive forever if that's what I want to do. So that's why I think it's a crazy statement to say it can't survive when you don't even know their objectives, their costs, etc.
To what end?
Also, most wouldn't consider 1.2 million people a mid-sized city.
Ehh, I was simply making fun of the chick in the ad and the original poster being a spammer. But I was honeslty applauding their efforts, I just am not sure it will last is all, and you have to admit that the girl with the pinky in the ad is just re ed, to use Timmy's favorite phrase. I see Kori's points and all are valid. I simply don't agree with them.
And PLEASE don't get started about city size. You will give Buddy Holly a chubby.
The guy isn't spamming, he's just promoting a magazine about this city. Some people might enjoy it.
And if any of you wouldn't just because there wasn't a King Kong Nachos on the food page, then maybe y'all should learn to scroll.
Every thread isn't for everybody.
Hey Mookie Crew, you.
I tried to pay the debt, but Pimpo said he didn't want me to.
I figured it was by whining like a little similar to when his picture gets posted.
just mail it ill give you address
Thanks..............I knew someone would get it............
Actually I do read the Current every now and then. And a couple of my lunchtime eateries, Sip and Espuma (now called Cafe Chiapas) are on their distribution list. Sip has some damn good panini.
Hey Buddy - is that Metropolitan place in Travis Park? Residential or hotel?
You're living in NJ and never been to Manhattan?
Anyway, shouldn't the name of the magazine be Mira! San Antonio?
What part of "near Philadelphia" did you not understand?
