Where did I say that??
Butta, Sanity...I think we're all forgetting what's really important.
David kicked an extra point for his JV squad and that's good.
Pretty similar. Don't know which one holds more weight, not that it matters. The team on top is all that matters. California does have good football programs, as does Texas.
Your list had something that stuck out to me. Check out the power #'s for De La Salle. They blow the number 2 team out of the water.
We used to play them when I was in high school once a year, along with Mater Dei and Helix. I never thought it was fair that De La Salle, a private school which was allowed to recruit, got to play public schools like my own. It was ed up and they were stacked each and every year.
I just kind of took this statement and ran with it.
Did anyone pick up David on their fantasy team?
I can tell you it sure as wasn't the women of James Logan High.
yea im a boss at kicking teh ball but its not like thats my only position... and thats a lot comparing to johnny blaze on his badminton team
Please, kickers do not play other positions. You are just a ass soccer player that wears shoulder pads. Do you get to see some action in the 5th quarter?
that this isnt the nfl they dont just pick kickers for one position i started out playing football as cornerback and i was the best kicker so i kicked the mother ing ball does that make sense.
Do you start at cornerback? Be honest.
All the kickers on every team I played on were es.
Even a guy named Ryan Plackmeir, and he is now the starting punter for the Seattle Seahawks. He was a soccer puss during highschool, worked out for him. Maybe all hope is not lost.
What David means subliminally is:
"I got burned at CB worse than an albino suntanning and had to take kicking duties to remain on the team."
my junior year playing football our kicker got injured (car accident) and our starting QB took up kicking/punting duties the rest of the season... he wasn't half bad![]()
no i dont start actually the two juniors that play corner start in front of me but im right behind them in 2nd string. And also speical teams that doesnt include me kicking (punt return, etc.)
Care to guess where the #1 team came from the past 2 years? A team that I would say unfairly lost the #1 spot because they have still not lost a game in God knows how long, but either way do your research. Its the same 2 teams every year from California that make a run at the top spot: Mission Viejo and De La Salle, while Texas puts countless programs every year in the rankings--Lufkin, Southlake Carrol, Euless Trinity who is a newcomer, Spring Westfield, Smithson Valley, The Woodlands, Galena Park N.S, Judson, Katy, and Plano East. These rankings are very flawed simply because of the different levels of compe ion in all of the different states, and it is very difficult to say Team A is better than Team B, but I did say our JV teams could MOSTLY beat your varsity teams. There's a few good programs in nearly every state, but my point was that Texas football is far superior to California, on any given day I would put any of the top 20 from Texas against #1 from anywhere else.
JV teams from one of your lufkin, trinity, carrol, etc schools probably could beat some var teams around here but its the same for us, the JV teams of mission viejo, de la salle, oaks christian, etc could beat var teams in texas... it goes both ways.
yea i know texas is all about football but what about all the other sports? yep, california
You'd put any of the top Texas 20 against De La Salle?
Didn't the California team kick the out of the Texas team so many years in a row that they decided to have California play a Florida team?
In a preseason game against teams that USED to be contenders in Texas. Texas would send programs like Permian and Carter to play California teams, and then sometimes send the team that was defending their state championship, but lost almost every starter and wasnt even ranked.
Yea our 2A-4A teams, not the big schools.
what Jud is saying is that Texas has not ever really sent their best teams. In fact it is often hard to tel who that is until the 4th or 5th week of the season due to the amount of talent in Texas. Every year a different team seems to emerge out of nowhere. There are always your regulars but new teams show up every year.
I travel to San Diego a lot and My boss and me have this discussion all the time. His son plays fotball and I have been to a few games. We came to the following conclusion after he came down and spent a weekend watching texas Footbal in San Antonio.
He(not me) concluded that if you eliminated The top 5 teams from each state and only looked at the #5-#25 teams from each state that Texas was much deeper and talented. He said that do to a lot of recruiting that the Top california teams do they have some really bad ass teams. After watching the games in California I would agree.
I guess the point he was making was that your average High School program in Texas was stronger than the average football program in California.
To give you an example: The seguin school I referenced earlier in the thread has just recently become a pretty good team. THey are what most people in Texas would consider an average to slightly above average football team. they have 17 division 1 recruits on their team, and they are average. This is the reason almost every team in Div 1 college ball has guys from Texas playing for them, there are just a lot of good players.
We are not talking about other sports.
Something just dawned on me.........why would you post a picture of someone else and then say "look at that boss"? Seems kind of gay.
