The commentators were talking about how out-of-shape she looked at the beginning of the tournament, and how fit she looks now. Perhaps that has something to do with it?
yeah i'm sure you get in shape very quickly playing two weeks of tennis. she's only played 12 tourneys since her injury and rankings are based on how many points you ac ulate so that's the only reason she's ranked so low...i wonder what her actual seed for the tourney was though?
It might not be on paper but she has every woman on the tennis tour questioning their own abilities. This is as clear a statement game as you can get. People were questioning her talent when she was injured and was pursuing some off court things like modeling and the like. The woman on the woman's tour are now feeling the intimidation factor that once faded and has now reappeared.
