^I haven't read any of the previous posts on this topic except for this page, so I'm not going to even worry about jgw and his idiot takes. But I will do something that he won't or just isn't capable of......give credit where credit is due.

usc played a great game from beginning to end, and they are a much better team than I thought. I guess I should have given more consideration to them with Floyd as the coach. He had some really good teams at Iowa St. and appears to be getting the usc program on track.

Their transition offense was very impressive, they got up and down the court in no time at all and had us on our heels the whole day. And again our weakness in several different areas showed.

No one else could bring the ball up the court besides DJ.

We were way too focused on the perimeter and taking outside shots. When those shots aren't falling, you've got to go inside.

BUT, we don't really have any post players that can score inside. Big problem and one I think will be taken care of more next season when the Chapman/7 footer kid comes in along with the 6'8 PF out of SA. Them along with another year of maturity for James, Hill, Achtley and Pittman should improve our frontcourt measurably.

In the end, props to usc. They took advantage of our weak spots and played a consistent game from beginning to end.

With a better coach, Texas would do much better. Rick Barnes is mediocre at best, but he's not so lousy that he'll be prompted to be fired. Nice recruiter, bad coach.

Big 12 has two legitimate le contenders left.

Give it to the Pac-10, although USC isn't quite a contender.

ACC is probably the worst-performing conference so far. Really lame.

Big 10 wasn't supposed to do that well. Wisconsin was swooning at the end of the year, anyway, and yes, Ohio State survived a major scare. But it was a down year for the conference and the losses were all against major teams (Florida, UCLA...) in which IU and MSU played very tough but petered out.

^Agree, I really underestimated the PAC 10 with my brackets, the exception being UCLA-whom I have winning the whole thing (I'm a little worried with that pick right now!).

Being in Texas, those damn PAC 10 games just come on too late at night for me to watch-makes it difficult to determine how good some of the PAC 10 teams really are.

I guess next year I'll listen more closely to Tlong since he lives out there and watches a good amount of PAC 10 ball.

I still think Ohio State will win the le. Greg Oden is too much of an advantage.

what you're saying is you will be happy with your teams making the sweet 16 and losing, because getting there is important. i thought the goal was the le. sweet 16 streaks are for schools like gonzaga.
when did i say that?...cause no.

yeah, i'm not so sure about ucla right now either. not that usc is a contender, but they were definitely underestimated. in the 80 minutes against ucla this season, ucla was only ahead for a total of 5 minutes. even if we didn't pull it out, we hung in there and fought.
