Hopefully Duncan doesn't get the Olympics' treatment. We'll see.
By the Olympic Treatment, you mean when refs with no agendas officiate every game with no bias and to the best of their abilities?

Duncan could have used a big dose of Joey Crawford and his other "officials" at the Olympics

Lefty, didn't you want to practice your photoshopping?
Better a Walmart greeter. Good job for Joe in the office season. Help him work on his people skills.

Even Mavs fans are pleased with this. At least I am.

Crawford needed a "Come to Jesus... er... Stern" meeting. Now he'll hopefully get things in persepective before he comes back next season.

I think Duncan knew exactly what he was doing and he got the result he wanted.
If that's the case, he did the league and its fans a favor. This isn't Crawford's first and only offense. Give Duncan the MVP trophy for this one.

If it is true that Crawford is being suspended with pay, I would have to question why he is being paid. Joey is the worst of the worst, but at least ten other guys need to go also from the NBA officiating ranks.
    That post makes you think...hmmmmmmmmm?

Regardless of everything else, Phoenix now DOES have the HCA over SA in rd. 2.

No Crawford to ruin our playoff chances ; we'll see how it turns out vs Dallas this time

However, I'm afraid Bavetta, Javie and Salvatore will try to avenge him

Yes Joey Crawford was the main ref in that infamous game 3 vs. dallas. Spurs fans should be exctatic that he will not ref this playoffs.

Duncan was probably operating in conjuction with Stern, it was all sterns master plan.

    Conversation with joey:

Stern: Hey joe I was thinking we should prove a point tonight.
JC: oh yea what do you mean?
Stern: well I was thinking if Duncan says a word or you know laughs you should throw him out.what do you think?
JC: oh yea, anything you for you buddy.
    Stern: great!

    Conversation With Tim:
Stern: Hey tim how you doing?
    Tim: Good
Stern: Hey i am getting a little sick of the egotistical bastart crawford.
    Duncan:he is re ed
Stern: exactly what I was thinking!! Well anyway I was thinking if he gives you any tonight you should call him out.
    Duncan: ok.
Stern: really make a big deal, a big scene. you know don't leave right away, yell at him and then when everyone thinks it is over really go off through the media. Don't worry we got your back.
    Duncan: Ok.

and that my friends is how it happened.

Good to see the League got this one right. Probably the most ridiculous thing I have seen in along time of watching Mavs Basketball! It will be nice to see a game with less bias in it. I will admit to seeing some bias in the calls the last game and they definitely leaned towards my team. Here's to hoping that is out of picture now.

See ya'll in a month or so!

Crawford gone is something all fans can appreciate. Stern got it halfway right: Salvatore should be pushed out and forced to "retire."

    1) The NBA had to do this. Crawford was busted. ABC had the audio and had a camera pointed at Duncan as he was getting ejected. That was game over for Crawford.

    2) So much for the small media bias by the NBA. They could have easily swept this under the rug or even come down hard on Duncan, but they sided with San Antonio.

    3) Hopefully Joey Crawford is back in the NBA next season. He's an NBA lifer and I think this might finally give him the humility that he needs. He's usually a pretty good ref ... when it hasn't come to Duncan.

    4) The fallout from this will be interesting in regards to how other refs view the Spurs. Will they be tougher on Duncan and the Spurs because they had a hand in taking down a ref? Will they let the Spurs get away with more because they don't want to get disciplined by the league? Hopefully it's neither and the Spurs just get a fair shake, but human nature will make a ref react to a Duncan situation different now.

I don't know, I think Stern will make sure to nip that in the bud. I think the commish appreciated that Pop didn't flip out during the game or after and aired his grievances privately so as to not embarass anyone further.

It's worth noting though that Crawford is not the least bit apologetic about the thing. Stern just said that he believes he did the right thing and would do it again. Maybe it's time to retire this guy, because he clearly has issues.
