The only reason I hate the Mavs so much is because of their fans. I also strongly dislike Mark Cuban, and Dirk is alright I guess, but he sure does know how to display a ton of arrogance even when he has accomplished nothing.
??? Dirk arrogant ??? The guy is humble to a fault. I wish he'd show a lot more arrogance and/or selfishness. He's still a very timid, shy & incredibly humble guy which is amazing for a player as good as he is. I'm amazed that anyone would have that perception of him.

    1. Baron Davis initiated the contact
    2. Terry did reach around the back of his head, so why did Davis fall in that direction? Did Terry palm his neck and pull him down??
    3. Terry did NOT "body slam" "leg sweep" or "pile drive" him like I'm reading here
    4. Davis flopped AND grabbed his head...he sold it. Him and Terry were both being punks.
    5. It's common sense people...it takes MUCH more than that to take a guy like Baron Davis down, especially when you consider the size difference between the 2 players.

in that clip sarunas and biedrins were clapping.... why didnt they get ejected?

I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with you on this one... I live in Dallas and nothing makes me more angry than a bunch of flip flopping fans that look for the easy way out. Just read the NBA insider about the league investigating the JRich tangle with the fan and a bunch of guys I work with are like, "That's a good fan. yeah! I want to suck that dude's . etc.." It's disgusting to see a fan base that wants to take the low road, that will defend an obvious suspension worthy act like hitting another player in the nuts, and will tune out the season until the Cowboys are done playing. I hate those guys. I'm alright with the team. I love Avery as the coach and they always provide a good game when they play us. Great rivalry, just have no respect for their fans....

And que the Mavs fans saying we whine, complain, blah, blah, blah

This whole panic attack about a possible suspension on terry is very similar to mavsfans' blanket denial of the nut punch last year. I remeber calling the radio station here in austin cause the mavs homerism from the hosts was out of control. The hosts were crying about the "alleged" punch and saying how Finley was a baby and so were the whole Spurs organization for sending a tape to the league office. I told the producer that I just wanted to give the conversation some balance and say "lets see what the tape shows, etc..." He just hung up on me. The next day after the tape came out, NOT A WORD. Mavs fans are re ed. Cuban is the perfect owner for that fan base, arrogant, rich, ugly, and whiney. Too bad, cause I always USED to like the mavs. I hope Avery gets a job somewhere else quick.

Can I get you to show both videos side by side please, with the take down and the clapping of the hands by Stephen Jackson.

Nothing for Terry or Jackson...I guess the league reviewed it and saw what a great flop / acting job it was by Davis too...

    http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/warriors/index?

The Morning After update: J-Rich under investigation, Jackson won't be fined or suspended
    From Janny Hu in Dallas.

Here's the latest as of Tuesday afternoon from American Airlines Center, where the Warriors just practiced before flying home.

The league is still investigating Jason Richardson's encounter with a Mavericks fan following his three-point attempt with about 20 seconds left in Game 5. Richardson's momentum carried him into the front-row seats and he got tangled up with a fan, who later went to NBA security about how testy things got as Richardson tried to extract himself and get back down the court.

Richardson brushed off the incident this morning, saying that "nothing really happened," no words or shoves were exchanged either way, and that he hadn't spoken to league officials yet.

As for Stephen Jackson, who was thrown out after just one technical foul for clapping with 8.9 seconds to go, I just got word from the league that he's in the clear. No fines. No suspension. The NBA isn't looking into anything.

Same goes for Jason Terry, who received his own technical foul for taking down Baron Davis on the sidelines earlier in the game.

Mark Cuban made that team who they are, his inability to not be a bag ruined the team
The largest myth in the modern NBA. What exactly did he do? Finley, Nash and Dirk were already with the team when he bought it, and construction of the new arena was underway. Mark Cuban signed Dennis Rodman, and the resulting losing streak kept the Mavs out of the playoffs that year. Cuban created an environment of blaming officiating for losses, poor sportsmanship and embarassing displays of immaturity. He let Steve Nash go because he was over the hill, he screwed Don Nelson out of the money he owed him, he takes personal shots at the opposing teams, and he lobbied to change the rules to open the offense that many believe cost his team in the NBA finals.

I suppose, technically, that Mark Cuban indeed made the Mavericks who they are, but it's unfortunate that he did. He took a promising team with potential and remade them in his image.

Funny though, how Davis and Jackson both seem to have to leave the game right at crunch time, twice now. Are the refs trying to insure Dallas doesn't get totally embarrassed
Crunch time? Jax was suspended with 8 seconds left and the Mavs up 6. Davis fouled out with less than 24 seconds left and the Mavs up as well.

J.Richardson was fouled on his 3 pt attempt (dirk would have got the call if he was shooting)...then Davis phantom foul....then S.Jax tossed for nothing...and Terry can slam a guy down without getting ejected.....Dirk shoots 15 free throws when he barely went in the paint the whole game....and mav fans can honestly say there was no homer officiating? Did you defend Terry's punch to Finley's balls last year too?

Dude, all these Mav Fans need to just shut up! Why can't you just understand that the only way the Mavs ever win is when they cheat and pay off the refs. Ya'll are so stupid if you think otherwise. Refs love the Mavs, simple as that. No point in arguing. After all, how could the refs not love a team that has an owner that is constantly complaining about them. Duh!

The point that you and your ilk are missing is this: the Mavs fans blame the officiating when they lose (Miami Heat), but then claim to be the superior team when they win (Spurs, Suns). Spurs fans have been trying to corner Mavs fans in that hypocrisy forever, but the overwhelming majority of Mavericks fans simply lack the fundamental basketball knowledge necessary to understand it or would rather throw sarcasm-soaked strawman arguments about.

Your screen names is very fitting becauase you obiviously do have an Obstructed View. The Miami argument is lame and old. The officiating was horrible in the finals last year. But that doesn't mean I think it was some kind of consipiracy. And even if that is your view, maybe you should be the better man and not do the same damn thing. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

I guess we should all just give up and agree with you automatically when you are bashing our team for the refs calls that we have no contol over just because you are the all-knowing basketball guru. We all here are idiots by far compared to your vast knowledge of basketball. I'll sit in the corner now and think about what I have done.

I didn't see the foul he committed, but suspended for the remainder of the playoffs? That seems a tad harsh.
Not really, not since they only have 1 game left....
