I don't think you get to activate a player to replace a guy who is suspended, though I might be wrong. I think the penalty of suspension has a bit less kick if you can activate another guy.
Lame, lame, lame, lame, lame.
Robert Horry takes a cheapshot and the Spurs are rewarded with having two of Phoenix's top players suspended. Horry should have been suspended one game, but thats IT. His hard foul wasn't much more than just physical playoff basketball, but in combination with his elbow, I can see it meriting a one game suspension. Considering that no fight was started, however, suspending Stoudemire and Diaw was weak. I don't care about the "rules are rules" crap some Spurs fans are throwing around. No harm was done, and no punches thrown by them. Why ruin a great series with controversy, and reward a borderline cheapshot by Horry? Stupid move by David Stern.

The asterisk needs to be on the Suns record:
* Suns cost themselves the series when two of their players left the bench during an altercation and were forced so sit out the pivotal fifth game.
But in all seriousness, it's far from over..
You are a fool and a disgrace to your fanbase.
It doesn't matter if the Spurs benefit or the Suns benefit or whatever. All that matter is that all three broke rules and in the case of Diaw and Stoudemire the rule they broke warrants an automatic one game suspension. The NBA didn't want to do it, but they had no choice. If they let them slide, they contradict everything they've been doing to stop fights in the last 10 years and open up all kinds of worm holes from here on out that would have ended up in players possibly suing the league for discrimination if they were suspended for breaking a rule when these two were let to slide free.
this is a 7 game series not 5
they did not hand the spurs the series
suns have home court in 3 games left
I'd do cartwheels if that happened.
of course you do.
Its time for the Flight of White!
We have Tim Duncan. For ten years he's the only chance we've needed.
I've tried to stay out of the smack talk with you guys but you make it hard to ignore you.
Dirk disappeared. At least Duncan is in the hunt even with a "bad" game for him.
just put Vaughn on the IR and activate either one.
FREE THE KiWI!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree the Suns will play extremely hard. They will be more dangerous than people think.
Suspensions or not, the Spurs would come to play as if it were an elimination game. I think there will be lots of adrenaline early on, but the Spurs know they have to capitalize on this situation. Not sure if Nash's 40+ would ultimately matter. But nothing's a given, I agree.
I agree with this guy.
If you don't like it - Blame Stoudemire and Diaw. If they weren't idiots they wouldn't be in this situation. GOT DAMNIT PEOPLE - HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE!!
definitely. they had to do this. it doesn't make it right, but they had to.
The refs saved the Suns in game 4. This just evens it out.
Manny's right. This sucks.
Pop always says that when something like this happens, the other team rises up and plays better. And then the Spurs go out and prove him right.
Dammit, dammit, dammit.
Horry made a personal sacrifice and delivered for his team just at the right moment - once again. What a brilliant tactical move! He needs to be applauded for what he did. I hope that the younger Spurs learn from him.
For what? Neither will play. If anything, activate Ely.
Awwww, were they breathing on the Spurs too hard? Seriously, and people call the Suns pussies...
and if legal,
vaughn on IR and White and Butlick on the active roster.
I agree. I'm not happy at all about this. I don't want to win this way. I think the refs will totally overcompinsate now and give the SUNS every call imaginable in Game 5. The Big Three should be ready for a lot of non-called hacks.
I sort of understand Spurs fans wanting the win any way they can get it, but if you're honest, even Spurs fans can agree on this: If the Spurs win game 5 and then the series, it's tainted. You may not agree that it's "unfair," since you can point to the black and white rule, and maybe you won't agree that Horry "caused" the suspensions, since Amare and Diaw are ultimately responsible for their own actions, but nothing will change the fact that you didn't play the Suns at full strength.
Sucks for everyone.
