Damn!!! Garrett Anderson gets 10 ribbies tonight.

Vlade had 9, I think, against my Sox a few years ago...the Angels must like beating the beasts of the east.

Yep, it's pretty hard when you don't have a cupcake schedule anymore.

Yep, it's pretty hard when you don't have a cupcake schedule anymore.
our cupcake schedule begins again on Tuesday.

But we havn't done HORRIBLE in our tough few teams.
The Angels always beat us so getting a win vs them was nice.(including a tough extra inning loss vs them)

We have lost 2 tough games vs the Tigers.
And the Orioles have given us troubles this year and we lost an extra inning game vs them.

So were not getting embarrased by teams.
    Were competing.
And I still see us there in the end whether its wildcard or division champs.

Just think if we played in the NL? It makes me sick how teams like the Cubs have 60 plus losses and have a better chance of making the playoffs then us.

How about you move to the NL --- but you can only have $100 million in payroll?

Yeah, the Yanks are just full of tough breaks...

Sox are hot!!!! They outscored Chicago 46-7 in 4 game series against the White Sox this weekend.

We have our 3 best pitchers lined up to go against Yanks starting Tuesday, ans all we need is to win one of the 3 to just about lock up the division......I like my Sox' chances.

For all practical purposes, yes the magic number is 1 this series.

If Sox are 6 games up after this series(win 1 of 3), it would be improbable for them to lose lead to Yanks wth 28 games left. If Boston just plays .500 ball and go 14-14 in Sept, the Yanks would have to go 21-7 to pass up the Sox. Given the Yankees' play lately, I do not see that happening. I see Boston, at worst going 16-12, which even makes NY's plight more gloomy. Another thing, Boston will have 18 home games and only 10 road games left on their schedule after the NY series.

A bonus, Boston plays Tampa 11 of those 28 games. They pretty much own Tampa, so they should pile up a lot of wins just in those games.

If Boston wins 1 game this series then they will be 7 games up not 6.
And I agree its going to be tough to catch Boston even with a sweep.

But if anyones capable of it its the Yankees.
New York needs to and I think they will play great ball from here on out.

We dont have that tough stretch anymore.
Another Bonus is your last 7 games are at home while ours are on the road(including the Orioles)

We need to sweep this series vs Boston and the next one. And that still might not be enough.

Anythings possible so I'm still going to hope

Earl Weaver used to always say that as you could make up 1 game per week and still catch the leader, you were still a threat.

However, if games back > weeks left in the season, you're in trouble.

And where were you when your team was not just 1 game behind? Why do you barely come in here now?

you like to pick on everyone who just shows up.
Hopefully you believe that I was here when we were still like 12 back and even like 9 back of the wildcard.

Were just now getting ourself dug out of our whole.
Time to climb out of the whole completley though.
    We need the sweep.

Well they didnt win a game so the Division is still up for grabs. YIKES!

We beat your top 3 pitchers too. Looks like we outpitched you guys. Must be tough not facing guys like Chase Wright anymore huh?

But were still 5 games back so I still need to keep my eyes on seattle for now.

    See you in September.

Truthfully, I didn't even know about this thread. I just hadn't checked out the Clubhouse Forum until somebody mentioned it.

But, you can ask Midge, I've been behind my team from day one.

Is Mel a guy or a girl??? And I can never tell if it likes the Rangers or Boston. It seems to like Boston but is a Rangers fan. And were 6 games back from Boston. I'm starting to wonder if its too late or not. Hopefully we can sweep vs KC and Boston splits with the Orioles. We would be 4 1/2 out with 1 more series each before we play each other in Fenway. After the Boston series we should know if we have a chance or not. Either way I think both teams will make it and October is all that matters.
