If a team won 61 regular season games and have nothing to show for it, does it still count?
Housewives ... gosh I hate that show. Jumped the shark 2 seasons ago, and other than Eva, the women aren't that good looking. I'd rather watch paint dry.
If a team won 61 regular season games and have nothing to show for it, does it still count?
comment from a HS classmate after I sent him the KTAR/tainted poster:
"I spoke with a neighbor of mine this afternoon, and he spent last week in
Phoenix. He told me the negativity surrounding the Spurs' win over the Suns
is both ugly and nearly palpable. He said he has never seen such hate
spewed toward a sports team. Just flat pathetic."
A) The Suns play a fundamentally inferior style of defensive basketball that casual fans like, creating legions of kids who doesn't have any concept of defense, optimizing use of the shot clock, and use of personal fouls.
B) They have a franchise player who has an IQ of two rocks and a weed, a player who has the compe ive streak that doesn't stop him from taking responsibility of his own action and complain non-stop to the media.
C) Holds the record of a zero rating in the finals, because they have never been there.
Yeah... the Suns is definitely redefining the league.
What I find funny is here they let the trolls of other teams pretty much run wild. Over there they can't take even the least bit of it and ban 'em asap. As I've said, that whining/blaming at ude just bleeds on down from owner to coach to players to fans. I've never seen anything like it. Maybe on some college football boards but honestly, they take it to new heights. Maybe it's from living in the shadow of California and Los Angeles.
Frankly, I don't think the Suns fans are responding any differently from how fans of other teams would respond. For the most part. I'm willing to give them some benefit of the doubt due to the unusual cir stances of parts of that series, compounded by the general acceptance of self-victimization perpetuated by the Suns ownership and coaching staff.
What's more funny to me than how Sun Fan has reacted is witnessing paid professionals like Dan Patrick literally pouting over it. It takes a special kind of team to turn those people into snivelling little es making fools of themselves on air. Makes me all the more proud to be a Spurs fan.
Thank you, Suns fans for the entertainment. Having you guys around is like watching COPS and laughing at the white trash criminals, or like watching the Animal Planet show where the people have 80 skinny cats running around their dilapidated homes.
I love Tim Duncan and the rest of the Spurs. When I watch them, I'm on the edge of my seat and it's dramatic for me. Watching Tony Parker grow into a beast these playoffs and unveil his 3 pt shot was a revelation. This was great fun and next season will probably be fun too.
Basically, if you don't have muscular black guys with street cred dunking every other play, your team is boring. That's about what it is. Heck, I would love to have someone like that on our team, too; but we have two of the best penetrators in the league, we are one of the best three-pt shooting teams, we have a first ballot HOFer, GOAT-type player, and we're FING good! To me, that's exciting and I love it. I feel sorry for someone who has to follow a spineless team like the Suns.
You are right. I made a couple of good-natured jabs at their hateful bile and I was banned ASAP.
I've been wondering about that myself. I've moved on but it seems like the hatred from Spurs fans regarding Suns fans is just disproportionately intense considering Spurs already won this year's championship.
About how long was it before Spurs fans on this board moved on after last year's game 7 loss to the Mavs? (Just curious since I was not a member here last year).
Spurs fans never ed so much about mavs beating us. the ing probably lasted a couple of weeks after we lost.
But sun fans are still in denial, still crying and still complaining. this is a full month and a half after losing. and I don't see any sign of them getting over it yet.![]()
What can I possibly talk smack about? The 'O7 Spurs are the best team this season.
Phoenix S0NS didn't impress me this year. They looked like the same garbage team from 2005. If Manu played half as good as he did in '05 this year's series would have been wrapped up in 5 games too. If the Nuggets get some decent perimeter shooters I can see them being much more dangerous than the Suns next year. They already own the Suns on the physical end. All they need is a bench with some Barry/Finley-type shooters.
What was the concensus on that ing back then? Was it against the officiating or against the Mavs bad plays? or against dumb stupid luck?
Congratuations for moving on. That puts you in the sane minority of Suns fans, it appears. It's not hatred toward them on our part though ...it's more like pity and laughter. It's hilarious to see their projection -- we won and moved on to bigger and better things, but they're calling our le this-and-that, etc. And we encourage their crying, for entertainment's sake.
As for your second point, we were pretty mad after last year's loss. But, bad reffing aside, it's not like we were accusing the league of being out to get us, wanting us to lose, or dishonoring the trophy by calling it "tainted."
The only tainting that happened was when Dallas choked and let Miami walk off with the hardware. How the $%&* did that happen?
But we got over it, because after all, we did have 3 trophies already.
Newsflash asshole ratings for the finals have basically been subpar every year since Jordan retired except when the Lakers were in the finals. Ratings were bad the year before with the Heat in the finals. Ratings were suppossed to be better this year because of Lebron. This is not a Spurs problem it is an NBA problem. Suns were not going to bring in the big ratings either so dream on while we keep counting our rings.
for 2 weeks spurs fans ed about everything from refs to small ball to pop.
But sun fans have not stopped for 1 month and a half. Not to mention that Suns owners AND players ed even during the series, when series was tied. Even Amare has ed as recently as 2 weeks ago. LOL
Suns are ing pathetic as an organization.
Spurs organization/players/owners/coaches NEVER EVER ed when we lost to mavs.
I hate saying that anyone got lucky. It insults them, tells them that they won not because of their skill or hard work. Dallas beat us last year through hard work and excellent play by Dirk. They played their bums off and so did we. So I felt bad for them (for about a millisecond) to see that hard work wasted by choking in the Finals.
So if the Suns were to, hypothetically speaking, beat us anytime soon, it won't be due to luck. It'll be because they earned it. So show us the same respect. We earned this le just like we earned the other 3.
Spurs are a classy organization. Suns are pathetic in comparison. Even a media giant like the Knicks didn't this much when Ewing was hit with the suspension in '97. Though most Suns fans wouldn't know this as they were still in 2nd grade back then.
In 1993, the NBA hit a high point. The six-game series between the Bulls and the bombastic Charles Barkley's Phoenix Suns averaged a 17.9 rating, a mark that eclipsed the previous record of 15.9.

Now let the grown ups talk, junior.
And yet I just easily OWNED every Spurs fan on this board.![]()
Also, why IN THE WORLD would you bring up "trailer trash" when you live in podunk Texas?
We should give San Antonio back to Mexico. No one would miss it (or probably even notice).
The Suns seriously pale in comparison to ing as much as the Bad Boy Pistons.
You can thank MJ for that. Bulls could have been playing the Clippers and MJ still would have brought in the ratings.
BTW, MJ's 41 ppg against the Suns was a record high. 15 years and the Suns still don't know how to play defense![]()
The Charles Barkley Suns (and Chuck himself) were very popular. At that time, our fans were like Golden State fans, it was a great time to be a Sunsī fan. Oh, and itīs Michael ing Jordan. Nobody couldīve stopped him.
I live in Scottsdale, biyaaatch!!![]()
Did you watch that series? The S0ns defense was even worse back then than it is now(surprisingly). That 41 ppg record still stand today. The S0ns could have at least made it look respectable instead of giving a MJ a free pass every time he had the ball.
