Does anyone here know if the role of Rachel Dawes offered to Katie Holmes-Cruise? Or did she just turn it down? As successful as this franchise will probably end up becoming I think that it would have been stupid of her to turn it down.
Thats what makes it so unusual that Katie Holmes and her publicists have both said that she was the one that decided not to continue with Batman, so word out in the street says that Nolan and company (WB) booted her ass out because of her crazy hubby's antics and the bad press it could have on the future movies
plus lets face it she was a child among adults in Batman Begins as if it wasn't enough that her "acting" was bad it looks even worse when she is surrounded by some of the greatest actors of our time
Exactly. I'm not too keen on Maggie's looks, though she looked pretty good in Stranger Than Fiction, but she's a much better actress. It seemed at the end of BB, that the films were transitioning away from a romantic interest twixt Dawes and Wayne anyways...
Yeah she was the only thing that made BB unbearable for me a some points. I was just wondering did she turn down the part, or was it even offered to her. I don't buy that SHE decided not to continue with it. I mean what pressing projects can she say she is currently working on? Any fool would want to be part of perhaps one of the biggest blockbusters in movie history.

At the Comic Con junket for WhiteOut Kate Beckinsale dropped the bombs that she is interested in the CatWoman role in the next Batman movie which frankly scares the crap out of me. I dont think I can handle her in latex... its just way to hot! She said she wants the role because
"... I have a thing for black latex....
She also went on to say that she was a big fan of Mic e Pfeiffer and her portral of Catwoman.
"I think Mic e Pfeiffer was such an awesome Catwoman. I’d have to give it some serious consideration.”
She was at the junket to talk about her new film WhiteOut. Kate Beckinsale has been set to star in and Dominic Sena has been set to direct the action thriller "Whiteout". The film will be the first to go into production under Joel Silver’s newly reorganized Dark Castle Entertainment, which gives Silver an autonomous role in green-lighting and financing films produced under the banner. "Whiteout", which is based on Greg Rucka’s 1999 Eisner Award-winning comic book miniseries of the same name.
In "Whiteout", Beckinsale will star as Carrie Stetko, the lone U.S. Marshal assigned to Antarctica, whose investigation of the continent’s first murder draws her into a shocking mystery. Now, with only three days until winter, Carrie must solve the crime before Antarctica is plunged into darkness and she is stranded with the killer.

I heard Joker is going to spray Dent in the face with his acid flower at some point and thats how he becomes Two-Face. Though I heard this a very, very long time ago. I think that Harley would be a great addition to the franchise and her teaming up with Joker or maybe later Poison Ivy (Like she did briefly in the comics) would be awesome.
"The Killing Joke" One of my favorite Batman comics. I go out of my way to try to collect the Bat books, especially the ones that feature Joker.
Mr. Freeze would be awesome to see in the movies as well. Mr. Freeze from the comics would be great he's cold calculating and ruthless, all he wants is to bring Nora back. He is one of the few Batman villains that is put in Arkham not because he is crazy but because its the only facility that can meet his medical needs.
I was gone for like a day and missed a lot here.

Kate Beckinsale as Catwoman... kind of scares me.
No doubt she'd look fantastic, blonde or not, but I'm a Catwoman fanatic and I don't know if she's quite got the right certain something to play her. Between the fabulous Julie Newmar in the 60's and Mic e Pheiffer in Batman Returns, I worry that the bar's just been set too high.
it could always be worse....like Halle Berry worse....
Scarlett Johannson needs to be the next Catwoman tho.
I can't see them being this unfaithful to the Batman pantheon. Sal Maroni caused the disfigurement that led Dent down the path to madness and eventually becoming Two-Face, and with very few exceptions that fact has remained constant even as the story has been re-imagined over the years.
Then again, the 1989 Batman movie cast Joker (aka Jack Napier) as the killer of Bruce Wayne's parents, so I guess nothing is sacred. But rottentomatoes.com reports that: "... it looks like Eric Roberts will be playing a gangster called Sal Maroni, aka the bad man who helped turn Harvey Dent into the villainous Two-Face."

I think Juliette Lewis could pull of a great variation of Catwoman... I'm just worried that by the time the filming starts, she'll be around 5/10 years past her acting prime. However, as Pfeiffer showed, Catwoman doesn't need to be a youngin.
She was beyond twisted in Natural Born Killers and with Nolen's direction, could really play the part well...
When Joker in the teaser says: I'm a man of my word, I think he is referring/mocking Harvey Dent.
I wouldn't be surprised if they stay away from Catwoman as long as they can...
Though if they did stick with it I'd love for them to go with the newer costume

Phieffer still doesn't get enough credit for her role as catwoman, imo. That was one sequel that lived up to expectations.

No she does not have to go blonde, Selina Kyle/Catwoman has always been a brunette it was just Burtons idea to have her be a blonde after all he originally had cast Annette Bening a brunette but when she became pregnant she was forced to drop out

Catwoman is more of an anti-hero now then a villain. She may have been intended to be a villain but she slowly evolved into a love interest for Batman. It might have ruined the original idea for the character but I think she adds an interesting element to the Batman story because she is a love interest who also dawns a costume each night, or whenever she needs too. At any rate shes probably a long way off.
