They also didn't have a healthy Terrence Newman, and remember that Jacque Reeves was playing his first game, and for some ridiculous reason was put on Plaxico. No way in does he go off if Newman is on him.
And the bottom line is this - this game is FAR more important for Dallas than it is for New England.
A loss for Dallas and everyone starts questioning them.
A loss for New England and nobody cares because they're still waiting for the real test against Indianapolis.
A win for Dallas finally proves they're legit.
A win for New England doesn't mean anything to them. It means that if they beat Indy in the playoffs, they're going to make mincemeat of whatever unlucky NFC team faces them in the Super Bowl. And they already knew that.
They also didn't have a healthy Terrence Newman, and remember that Jacque Reeves was playing his first game, and for some ridiculous reason was put on Plaxico. No way in does he go off if Newman is on him.
I don't think it means much for either team other than it's another regular season game. It means a bit more for the Cowboys since it's a home game, and you definitely don't want to lose home games, but they are 5-0 and in prime position to win the division with or without a win.
The fact remains that the Pats have played just as weak of compe ion as the Cowboys but are getting a pass on it for whatever reason. It won't matter come Sunday, but I do wish the only decent media sources we have for the NFL would be a little better with their analysis. Here's the story about this game - if either team makes mistakes the other team will beat the out of them. That's the way it works when two teams of this caliber play each other, you can't get away with mistakes.
jacque reeves played reasonably well against the Giants. Roy Williams was the problem. Unless Roy is up to finally covering someone, I don't know how they contain Moss.
And Newman doesn't appear to be running at 100%. Last season he would have taken that INT back for 6 without any trouble. Lee Evans is fast but not Newman fast. and unless Newman is at 100% speed, I don't see him being able to hang with Moss.
Cincy sucks. They are living on hype from previous years and they aren't worth a this year. Same with SD.
The Giants game was the 1st of the season, and the the first game in that defensive scheme. It doesn't hold much water.
Cincy's offense is just as potent as ever. but say whatever will convince you that Dallas is on New England's level.
My point was that Reeves had never started, nor gotten matched up against a reciever of that caliber. Yes, I felt that he played well, but there were a lot of things that Newman would never have let Plaxico do if he was guarding him.
And no one is going to shut Moss down, except himself. But if there is anyone that can contain him, its Newman. I'll tell you this, there is a much better chance that Newman can contain Moss than Asante Samuel containing T.O. T.O. will abuse that guy, much like he did in the Superbowl on a BROKEN LEG.
They'll roll the safety Watkins over on Moss to take away his height advantage, and to be honest it's not really Moss I'm concerned with. It comes down to 2 things - hitting the out of Brady and keeping guys like Welker, Watson, and Stallworth from going off. Most of that goes with getting hits on Brady and making him uncomfortable throughout the game. I know this sounds bad, but I wouldn't be above having a defensive lineman or LB take a very hard shot on Brady early to get in his head, even if it has to be late. If anything it'll muck up the game and make everyone pissed off, and I think that kind of game takes NE out of their comfort zone and favors the Cowboys. That's probably going too far, but I'm a crazy bas .
Samuel won't have to cover him if TO is going to drop everything thrown his way![]()
Get in Brady's head?Cowboys fans are funny!
Say whatever will convince you that NE has played anybody worth a . I admit that Dallas hasn't played a tough schedule, but I can also see that NE hasn't either. Cincy is no longer a great offense, just a decent one that is mistake prone.

AT Dallas not having the potiential to be on New Englands level this season. What a load of horse . As amazing as the Pats are, they arent unbeatable.
Like I said, it's a crazy thought. But, when it comes down to it, if there were millions of dollars on the line and a shot at the glory I'd break a mofo's arm, leg, or neck to win. But that's just because I'm as mad as a hatter and sadistic to boot.
If Dallas is going to beat New England, they better do it on Sunday because that's the last time they'll be beating New England this year.
New England is concerned with a Super Bowl, not Dallas in week 6.
That won't be a problem for T.O., especially since Samuel is his . He knows that hes going to mow his overrated ass over on every catch he gets.
Samething could have been said when the Rams/Pats played week 11 during the 2001-2002 season. Rams were having superbowl talks while the Pats were seen as just a playoff team. Rams beat them and yet the results were different in the superbowl.
Dallas is concerned with a superbowl as well. Again the Pats arent unbeatable. They havent won a superbowl in almost 3 years.
Are you kidding? After getting hit a couple times against Cincy, he was acting like a total , which was very unusual for Brady, but he was ing at the refs over EVERYTHING, and they gave him the most ty ass calls too.
It'll be a good game and in the end will just be another regular season W or L for either team.
If they do meet in the Super Bowl all bets are off. The Cowboys could beat NE in the Superbowl.
Not to mention that Ellis was out, and they lost their starting nose tackle for the year in that game in the first quarter. The d has gotten much better since the first two weeks.
And I wouldnt say Newman isnt 100% because Evans caught him, Evans is one of the fastest guys in the league.
To me, it all comes down to if Henry is playing. If Reeves has to guard Stallworth the d will be in trouble if they arent getting pressure. I already think the d will have trouble with Reeves on Welker. I dont think the Pats will be able to run the ball, and I do think the Boys will pressure Brady. It will all be up to the offense imo.
Well now, that is all a tarnished memory, as we now know that Bellicheat had other "alternatives" to help his team win.
Broncos have done it as have the Colts.
LMAO that might be a reasonable comparison if the Patriots are weak defensively, have a QB who turns into a pussy when the blitz comes, and Mike Martz is their coach.
Good thing for New England that none of those things are true.

Very true.
I really don't think Reeves on Stallworth will be a big issue. Stallworth is just like Moss. They both can't run routes for . And Reeves is actually faster than Newman, so I'm not too concerned about Stallworth. I'd actually rather put Henry on Welker. That will basically take one option out of the game, as I think Henry's style of play is perfect to match up against Welker.
Evans is fast but nowhere near fastest guy in the league range. Newman would have outrun him easily if his foot was 100%.
