This is DeMarcus Ware's first real year playing his position. I'm of the opinion that he was very poorly utilized by Parcells. He's a dominating presence right now and has the potential to get a LOT better. If I'm building a defense, I take him before just about any other defensive player in the league. I'd take Champ Bailey over him, but there's not too many other defensive players I'd take before Ware.

DeMarcus Ware has great football IQ. He doesn't have as much experience but to say he's lacking in intelligence shows that you don't know much about him.
Didn't say he's lacking in intelligence. Just said that Tatupu has a much greater football IQ.

As a rookie Tatupu came in and became a true defensive captain; making sure all the defensive players were lined up properly, calling defensive audibles, even telling vets where they should be. As far as I know Ware didn't come in as a rookie and take the defense by the collar like that.

Hmmm, I'd like to know how you got that. Maybe a stat Im overlooking. See, my comment was a fact, while yours isnt.
It's called watching the game. If you know what to look for you would be able to see it.

So the Pats arent dominant like they think they are because the Ravens and Eagles gave them gifts? Every great team has a couple of close calls, hopefully the Boys turn out to be one of those teams.
If you ask the Pats players they won't say their dominant "yet". And that's just not lip service. Every team has holes and can be exploited. I doubt the Pats take teams like Jacksonville, Indy, and even the Chargers lightly.

DeMarcus Ware has great football IQ. Just as good as Tatupu.

And Ware never had that opportunity to be a leader right away. He was a DE in college and spent his rookie year learning how to play LB. In addition, Parcells would never have let him take control of the defense. He also would never have let Tatupu do that either. Alot of Ware's development has been stunted by the ultra-conservative philosophy of Parcells, something Tatupu never had to deal with. Even so, Ware is a dominant force with high football IQ. I'll take Ware before Tatupu any day of the week.

DeMarcus Ware is a damn good player and a true presence out there, no argument from me. But I would still take Tatupu over him.

Tatupu just does everything really well out there. You want him to blitz, he'll get to the quarterback or open up a huge hole for somebody else to get there. You drop him back in coverage, he's like an extra DB out there. You need him to stop the run, he's a great sure handed tackler that has a nose for the ball. I honestly can't see any weaknesses in his game.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I say Tatupu's IQ is higher. And Parcells wouldn't have had a choice if he would have had Tatupu on his team. He took a defense and led them to the Super Bowl as a rookie. Before the season had even started he was already barking at vets and pointing out their mistakes. He wasn't given the defensive captains job, he straight up went and took it.

Actually he was given it because only the coach can assign a captaincy or he can defer to a players vote.

I think Parcells would have actually hindered Tatupu's career as I think he did with Ware. Slightly but still. The defense that is in place with Dallas now allows for Ware to do more and use his athletic ability. Tatupu had that when he came in with Seattle and he shined. I would take Ware over Tatupu but not by much and that is in no way a slight. Both guys are studs and will be pro bowlers for quite a while.

I see Ware all over the place, being double teamed almost every time he rushes, great against the run, and a guy who puts up just as good production if not better with less snaps who is still learning his position.

A rematch with Seattle would be sweet, because that would mean that the Cowboys were in the NFC le game.

You mean how many were gifts.

I'll give it to you guys a W is a W, but you guys aren't dominant like you think you are. The only games that will mean anything will be played in January/February.
Oh, but the Seahawks are very dominant

BTW, How in the can you say Tatupu is better than Ware. Do oyu watch the games? They are in effect two different styes of linebackers.

If you don't thnk games being played now mean anything, you are an idiot. this is not hte NBA, where there are 82 games. Home field and momentum mean a lot.

Actually many people thought Golden St. could win. The Mavs were the least favored #1 seed ever.

Win a playoff game before you start making your Super Bowl vacation plans. I'd hate to see you guys end up like Charger fan.
Same to you bud...and the Warriors beating the Mavs was an upset. 67 win team versus 40+...Gimme a break dude.

Ohhhh yeah because you guys did such a great job against teams like Detroit, Washington, and Buffalo.
    Did we not win?

Well, if anyone was interested in watching the Seachickens play, we might be able to see how many "gifts" you guys have along with your losses.

Seattle is starting to look impressive and Hasselback is playing well so they would be a dangerous team. Still, I'd have to see them beat somebody (especially on the road) before I really gave them much credit. Solid team but I don't really know how good.

Ware is a monster. Better than Tatupu for sure. There's not many LB if any I'd take over Ware.

Tatupu is still better than Ware.

Seahawks did win a playoff game. Remember last year?? Or the year before that?? Remind me again when was the last time you guys won one.

And once again how many times did the Warriors beat you guys in the regular season?? Go ahead though, keep telling yourself the better team lost.

  22. #122
When in my verbage did you read where the Seahawks did not win...and if you still are saying the Warriors beating the MAVS wasn't an upset, you are probably the only person that thinks that.

Can you say HOOKED ON PHONICS....

Ware and Tatupu are different types of linebackers. I would rather have Ware any day...just as Shawn Merriman.

BeWare of D Ware. He would kill gay former USC LB Tatupu.

Ware is bigger and faster than Tatupu.
