I thought the Mavs got a lot of home-court calls tonight. The game WAS in SA wasn't it? It sure looked a lot like our court colors.

Just to go a little OT: Did anyone notice decreased sightings of Mark Cuban, they used ti show him every time that they played but On ESPN I saw him once. Looks like everyone's favorite owner has lost some luster.

Mavs fan here... just thought I would offer up one Mavs fan perspective...

First of all.. good game. I don't think tonights score is indicative of how much better you guys are than us right now. Your team looked bored with us.. even with a full roster I think your team would have been bored because you beat us twice already.. even though we had injuries then and our team is still developing after being totally reformed.

But regardless... even if we were at full strength and playing our best baskeball I still think you guys are much better right now.

That foul on Tony in the 1st half was clearly shown from an angle that showed Tony didnt come close to touching irk. Too bad BSPN chose to ignore showing that angle.
This call was a make up call. Dirk was fouled the previous possession and should have gotten a 3 point play. I hate make up calls, though. I don't think they should do it. But that is why Dirk got that call.

And the block by Horry was shown over and over, I'm still waiting to see an angle that shows the ball on its way down prior to Horry blocking it.
I was watching the national ESPN broadcast and they showed that shot clearly.. it was coming down when Horry got it.

And just for the record.. Dirk does not get freebie calls. Before this season he was probably the least respected star in the league. I saw LeBron James get 10 times more respect in his VERY first NBA game than Dirk had gotten at any point in his career.. and Dirk led his team to the WCF and a 60 win season.

Dirk is finally starting to get some calls this season.. but it still depends on who is officiating him. The reason he is getting so many calls this season are many.. first of all we got a 1/4-way-decent center in Dampier.. something we never had before. This allows Dirk to exclusively play power forward.. where bigger guys have no chance of guarding him. And because Nash is gone Dirk is carrying more of an offensive load.... And most importantly because the league is enforcing more foul calls on perimeter defenders to open up the offense more league wide

Tim got away with one on the offensive goaltending. You will forgive me, however, if I have no sympathy for Dirk getting no calls, as someone who has watched Duncan since his rookie year. Besides refs don't decide games, players do. I know John you were not saying that but I just peeked in at DallasBasketball.com and its all about the refs over there.

No sympathy needed. I'm just sayin, Dirk is not given any preferrential treatment. But he is finally getting some respect.

I agree. I believe that even if the Mavs had gotten more calls.. the Spurs would have probably just turned it up enough to beat us. Like I said.. I think they were bored and played down to the level of their opponent.

Even though I do think the Spurs have over-acheived some this season they are still much better than the Mavs have shown to this point. By the end of the season who knows? I don't know how good this Mavs team can get. I doubt we will get to be as good as the Spurs though because we are still not right in our roster AND the Spurs are so much more experienced as a whole.

Dirk's style of play keeps him from drawing many fouls that post up players usually draw. Also he tends to overexagerate when contact occurs. Case in point when he tried to bring the ball over Manu and he poked his own face and acted like he had been shot. He does have sick game but a 7 footer doesn't need to throw himself around to get ref help.
