Top recruiter and DE Charles Omenihu rode with guys from Sachse ('16 WR Devin Duvernay, '16 CB Jared Mayden and '17 QB/ATH Jalen Mayden). The guys over at 24/7 says that he recruited them the whole ride.
'16 WR Mykel Jones is in Austin.

This game is hard to watch. This team looks like .
Only a mediocre and injury prone Ash and a USC dropout can help us now. Good God
Not real surprising to me. Lack of QB and I personally think the defense is going to be really good. Cant take away much from spring games especially with so many injured players.
Alabama looks like crap in their spring game right now too but that doesnt mean squat.
So the defense is going to be really good 6 months after fielding the worst defenses in school history for 2 straight years? Don't see it. They'll be improved due to coaching but they will improve to average IMO. Hope they can overachieve.

I honestly wanted to go to the Texas Spring Game...
Its a team game, defense cant really do anything or have good paper "stats" when your offense constantly puts you in terrible situations and cant score. I dont think it was a terrible defense, Baylor with 3 points at half time, Oregon with like 16 points against the defense, 16 points to Tech, 13 points to Oklahoma who beat down Bama as example. Really helps when your defense can feed off your offense but ......
These guys already have the talent to play the game, all they need is the coaching

Rumors out there is that CB Keivon Ramsey has committed to Texas.
2015 4 star DB, Keivon Ramsey, has committed to Texas via Orangebloods.
Under John Mackovic Texas had the 112 rated defense. The next year they had the 68th rated defense. the following year it was top 10. The talent is there now we have a defensive minded coach so I also expect to see a great defense next year.
Former #USC QB Max Wittek made his third visit to #Texas for spring game on Saturday.
@DhaSickest: I been thinking about committing to UT for a while now...
2015 RB Derrius Guice. Ranked 164th overall in ESPN 300.
Forgot to add, Guice is of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, La.
Good news but I'd note he plays up a lot of comments like this most likely to pump up the fan bases

I remember his name being mentioned earlier, but Texas has offered LB Darrin Kirkland Jr. of Lawrence Cental (IN.), per 24/7.
He is set to make his commitment on May 30th, but calls this a "game changer". I don't know if he will push back his plan to commit, but he has a relationship with Strong and Jean-Mary from their days at Louisville.
...and you expected them to be world beaters the spring after they gut the staff and start over?
If you're expecting this next season to go well, you are going to have a bad time. Despite what Strong says, we are rebuilding not reloading. 6-6 or 7-5.
I think 7-5 is doable. I expect them to start a bit shaky and finish looking better and better. I certainly don't expect them to check out mentally like they did last season.
Nobody knows how this team will do regardless of what some of us think.
Lets take a look at schedule:
UNT- W
BYU-W
UCLA-L
KU-W
Baylor-L
OU-L
ISU-W
KSU-W
WVU-W
OSU-L
TCU-W
Thats 7-4..Team could change alot but right now this is my guess
That would be the under for me, I think they actually beat both Baylor and Oklahoma. Baylor was gutted on defense and they don't play as well on the road. From what I'm reading Knight looks terrible for Oklahoma, so a lot of that game will depend on what happens with him.
My biggest concern for Texas right now is getting our oline healthy and ready to go and seeing them perform. They must do better or it is going to be a long season. I expect to see our defense pick up exactly where we left off against Oregon and get better from there. That means we will be pretty solid on that side of the ball.
Looking at next season our iden y will be strong defense and running the ball.
I think they will win at least 8 games. There are 4 toss-up games, and I don't think we will lose them all.
William Wilkerson at Scout says LB Anthony Wheeler has a new leader. Since OU was the leader and he was just here, I'd guess it's us.
