Meh it's Republicans knowing their funding for 2024 will be doomed if they elect Gym speaker and let him drive the nation to default since it would crush the stock market and cost a lot of rich people money. I would imagine there are a lot of Republicans who don't want Gym but vote for him to look good for their lunatic base because they know they can use purple district representatives voting against Gym as lightning rods the same way the Democrats in the senate let Manchin take the blame for killing any progressive laws they don't want but pretend to want for electability sake (eg $15 national minimum wage).
