Been enjoying the Dogfish Head 61 Min IPA lately.
A former Head Brewer at Dogfish Head is now the Head Brewer at Deep Ellum Brewing Company. Yay.
Been enjoying the Dogfish Head 61 Min IPA lately.
I have one in the fridge...
Sunrise had a BUNCH of them...
I might open it tomorrow.
Better than Ruination?
I still gotta say I alternate between Stone Ruination IPA, Arrogant Bas Ale (both regular and oaked), Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye, Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron, and Rogue Chocolate Stout as my favorite beers. Can't really pick 1 out of the 5 and nothing else I have ever tried is in that class.

had this while i was visiting a lady friend in thuringia. her stepdad didnt know english but brought out this "schwarzbier" and it was hands down the best beer ive ever had. by the color and head i expected it to be like guiness, but it was nothing like it. the taste was strong, but certainly manageable, and i didn't get a full feeling at all from it. there was no bitter aftertaste.
i could have easily downed atleast six of these in one sitting. it was ing amazing.

Big Hops had a special Stone Brewery night last night that was so successful they are repeating it tonight. They will be tapping another keg of the RuinTen at 5pm if you are interested baseline bum.
Had a good NC IPA last weekend. Quite a few, actually. Looking forward to checking out the rest of their lineup http://www.foothillsbrewing.com/brews.html
This place near me is tapping Firestone Sucaba and Parabola. Wish I could go.
Had these this past weekend
Enjoy By was delicious. The cali-belgique was alright.
Got this one today. Lookin forward to some kinda vaguely special occasion to crack it open.
Millers in Beaumont got some Ruinten too, so I picked another one up.... and Hop Delusion by Karbach, which I also picked up...

You in dfw?
Visited the Odell Brewery in Fort Collins CO last week and they will finally be distributing to Texas next year (April-ish). Good times.
Odell is awesome, cool tap room but it can get crowded quick love FC, one of my good friends lives there.

Brewery's owner blends vocations
San Antonio Express-News / File PhotoNew laws mean brew pubs like Freetail can distribute beer — up to 10,000 barrels annually — to other retailers.

Looks can be deceiving. In Scott Metzger's case, it works to his advantage.

On a whim, I stopped off at O.H.S.O in Scottsdale this afternoon. Usually I know what I want but today I decided to try different blends in 3oz shooters. Tried the Nitro Milk Stout by Left Hand, Hefeweizen Wheat by Four Peaks, White Chocolate Ale by Sonoran Brewing Co., Noche Dulce Vanilla Port by Borderlands and of course I had to try the RuinTen by Stone Brewing.
Not being a big fan of IPAs in general, I thought that RuinTen had a mellow finish. I appreciated the fruity tones as well.
My personal fave was the Nitro Stout. One of the smoothest brews I've had in a long time. I wound up getting 3 rounds
That said, I thought all of them were pretty good. The most interesting one was the White Chocolate Ale. The flavor is there right from the jump but it doesn't hit you over the head and ruin the finish.
Have you had Boulevard's Chocolate Ale?
Never had the pleasure Lee. Do you know if they sell that in AZ? I've run across some decent stores in the area. I might have a look see soon.
Just looked it up. 9.1% ABV. That's a hard hitter.
I'll definitely put it on the list.
