If I were a teacher, I'd prefer to be armed - better than being a sitting duck waiting for the cops or some coward outside the school (what's he doing outside the school) who won't engage - if he was inside, he'd have a vested interest in shooting back - his own skin.

I am sure that the school districts can part with some of their funds from their cushy pensions to put one of those safes advertised on TV (quickly accessed by iirc fingerprints/palms?) in my class room. I happen to know from experience just how cheaply kids can be educated - it doesn't take much - certainly nowhere near over $11k each. A huge amount of education money goes towards employees' healthcare and pensions.
