The GOP establishment’s impotent panic: Why they can’t make Donald Trump & Ben Carson go away

“Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.” – H.L. Mencken

Republican voters are in a fiercely anti-political mood. As a result, the usual ways voters judge a candidate – experience, governing achievements, mastery of issues – have been devalued. People are looking for candidates not only to give voice to their anger but to amplify it. Reason has given way to demagogy…Such rhetorical recklessness damages our political culture as well as conservatism, a philosophy that should be grounded in prudence, moderation and self-restraint…Mr. Carson doesn’t abide by such niceties, and he may be accurately gauging the mood of many Republicans. The Times reports that advisers who once fretted about his inflammatory rhetoric have now decided to let Carson be Carson.

Wehner is right that Carson and Trump are resonating with Republican voters across the country, but it’s not because they’re anti-political; it’s because they’re anti-government.

Conservatives have been losing the culture wars and the legislative battles for years now, (????) and they just don’t give a damn anymore. They want to explode the system.

Trump and Carson are not just outsiders; they’re candidates without a coherent governing philosophy or even a tacit interest in policy. For that reason, they’re free to say whatever they want, no matter how insane, so long as it speaks to the angst of their core supporters. This is obviously what Republican voters want, and if the establishment thinks they can advertise their way out of this problem, they don’t quite understand what’s happened to their party.

Carson steals lead from Trump in key state of Iowa

In the survey of 574 likely Iowa Republican caucus participants, 28 percent said they would support Carson, a former physician, compared with 20 percent who said they backed Trump, a wealthy businessman and television personality.

Carson's lead, stemming in part from a big boost among women, falls within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points. Trump had led Carson in the Midwestern state last month, 27 percent to 21 percent.

Fluke poll, tbh, reliant on a massive outlier in the female vote that doesn't reflect the overall trend of Trump beating Carson among women.

Donald Trump, galactic emperor of American racism: How the culture war has transformed in a new age of paranoia

In a universe where the Donald is the GOP frontrunner, not even "Star Wars" is free from right-wing derangement

After the first trailer for the “Star Wars Episode VII” was released on Monday night, a few trolls took to Twitter to denounce the movie as anti-white propaganda, an apparent response to the starring turn of British actor John Boyega, a black man. While legitimate white supremacists were few in number, they nonetheless managed to create a media firestorm, and the hashtag “#BoycottStarWarsVII” was trending globally.

The thing is, these fringe lunatics have there very own presidential candidate, and he is far from being some obscure agitator. He is Donald Trump, of course; the man who has given white supremacists all over the country hope in their cause. Indeed, inveterate racists have already chosen Trump as their candidate.

The popular neo-Nazi website Daily Stormer, for example, has endorsed Trump, while the white supremacist organization that inspired Dylann Roof, the Council of Conservative Citizens, is also very supportive.

The former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke has also praised Trump as the “best of the lot” (although he has criticized the billionaire for his “deep Jewish connections”).

The Donald’s nativist fear-mongering is obviously catching on with the ugliest fringe groups in America, and he is cynically embracing all of the anxieties of less educated white people who fear the “browning of America.”

A group called the “White GeNOcide Project” even filed a pe ion with the White House to honor Donald Trump for “opposing white genocide.”

    The pe ion reads:

White GeNOcide Project honors Donald Trump for opposing White Genocide, and asks President Obama to honor him also.

ALL White countries and ONLY White countries are being flooded with third worlders, and Whites are forced by law to integrate with them so as to “assimilate,” i.e. intermarry and be blended out of existence.

Massive immigration and forced assimilation is genocide when done in Tibet, and is genocide when done in White countries, by UN Convention:

‘Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.’

Those carrying out White Genocide say they’re anti-racist.

    What they are is anti-White.

    Anti-racist is a code word for anti-White.

Diversity is a code word for White Genocide.

    ====

“American politics has often been an arena for angry minds.

In recent years (1950s, 60s) we have seen angry minds at work mainly among extreme right-wingers, who have now demonstrated in the Goldwater movement how much political leverage can be got out of the animosities and passions of a small minority.

But behind this I believe there is a style of mind that is far from new and that is not necessarily right-wing.

I call it the paranoid style simply because no other word adequately evokes the sense of heated exaggeration, su iousness, and conspiratorial fantasy that I have in mind.”

Drunk Indiana University student chokes Muslim woman while screaming slurs in racist hate attack: cops

On the troubled teen's now-deleted Facebook page, he was a heavy Bernie Sanders supporter, with the politician as his cover photo and a "Bernie Sanders" filter over his profile picture.

Bickford wrote the N-word on a cached post from the Panda Express Facebook page in 2013. He is also tagged in several posts mocking African-Americans.

Is Bernie Sanders racist towards Chinese?

He claims that the Chinese are "stealing" American jobs. This type of rhetoric seems racist, foolish and dangerous.

For years, the Chinese pegged their currency below real value "to steal American jobs", also were accused and/or prosectured for dumping. (dumping is technical term, you could look it up). They also have almost not worker or environmental regulations, protections, nor pay living wages.

Has NOTHING to do with Chinese as another, inferior race to Euro-Americans.

And Trump isn't "racist against Mexicans," he just wants to enforce immigration laws. Either both are racist or neither of them are.

Trump Takes Credit For Ford Moving Plants Out Of Mexico—Except It Isn't

Real estate mogul Donald Trump took a victory lap Sunday on Twitter, claiming that his fiery stump speeches convinced Ford Motor Company to move one of its plants from Mexico to the U.S.
But Ford burst that bubble in a statement Monday.

"Ford has not spoken with Mr. Trump, nor have we made any changes to our plans," the company said, as quoted by Cleveland.com. "We decided to move the F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks to Ohio Assembly in 2011, long before any candidates announced their intention to run for U.S. president."
