I am a fan of his and I think a 3-peat is a best case scenario.
I'll be along for the ride, for sure, no matter what though.

    Like I am already, dammit...
Does anyone know if Kawhi was in the room for the Spurs pitch to KD?

Lol, 1 Finals appearance next to an MVP and a stacked cast. But yah, for sure 3 peat. I guess Westbrook and CP3 will always have those theoretical rings even though they couldn't get it done on great teams with good coaching.
Tim ing Duncan is 10X better than Durant.

Kawhi knew KD was a fraud. Expect Kawhi to recruit Westbrook.

How many rings do you Westbrook fans think he'll have when he retires?
Depends where he goes when he's a free agent.. Star players don't win rings by themselves. Doesn't mean that he needs other stars but he will need a balanced team around him. I could see him getting 2 rings before he's done if the situation is right maybe more..

The only players to carry a team to a finals pretty much by themselves in the last 20 years are Tim in 2003 and Lebron in 2007

I could totally picture Kawhi walking into the room, 25 minutes late, without a word, and walks up to Durant and slaps him dead in the face.
Stares at him for a full three seconds before walking the out.
Someone hear's the word " " being said softly from someone, somewhere as he leaves.

Pop is all silence for a minute, while he tries to figure out the right thing to say and says: "You see, Kevin? That man has your back! Uh... Right? He's a Warrior! Oh ..."

Would not surprise me in the least if it comes out in a year, or two that Westbrook talked to some players, including Kawhi, about how made KD is.

    That's something Russ would do.

Go on, I'm mesmerized... And yet it still wouldn't surprise me. Russ does what he wants. Not what his endorsers want. He never has and he probably never will.

They just have opportunity to talk when they have obligation and commitments with Jordan that would otherwise probably not happen. They both don't seem like the kind of guys that would call each other on the phone and talk shop. Same thing with Aldridge and Kawhi during that offseason.

You talking KD and Russ? I agree. But I also think Russ is not some hermit that doesn't talk to other players either. He has dance routines with rookie teammates... He interacts.
That's what I'm saying. He's going to tell other players that KD is made, and he'll be right and it just may be recognized by other players.
    Maybe not...

I meant Kawhi and Russ are both on team Jordan so they have opportunities to actually communicate.. Whether recruiting would come into it or not who knows but they have opportunities to at least discuss things and get to know each other. I'm sure Russ talks to his teammates and whatnot but he's not the kinda dude to have a ton of friends around the league. I'm sure he has guys he talks to but he's not about having friends on teams he's trying to beat.

Could play a role in recruiting him next summer.. Kawhi and him do a Jordan thing together and he asks him how's free agency going.. Kawhi mentions Parker on his way out and he'd be a good fit.. Plants a seed.

It's a basketball website where those types of things are discussed routinely. People make predictions a hundred times a day here.

Predicting the upcoming season makes more sense than predicting the next 10 years of a player's career, though..

Gotta believe Riley will go balls to wall to trade for him before the season...Miami is the one non-LA/NY market i could see him signing a long term deal in..assuming Bosh retires, Dragic part of the trade, they will have two young prospects Johnson/Winslow + Whiteside and cap space and good coach..they could be back to top 3 team in East with the right moves by 2017..

Jalen Rose and Jacoby are filling in on First Take, and they said Westbrook needs to go to the Spurs, and it can happen if they include a third team in the trade.... And if OKC decides to keep him this year, then he should sign with San Antonio.

I know it's highly unlikely, but still, pretty cool that someone in the mainstream media is putting it out there.

Will try to link the YouTube video later when it's out

Excellent observation. Westbrook is a fashionista; he ain't coming to a backwater like San Antonio. But his fashions would probably go over huge in South Beach.

I'm reading people saying westbrook isn't good for our system but that system they want is dead.

WEstbrook would be amazing as a drive and kick guy. WE have two shooting bigs, easy to clear space for westy. Get your heads out of your asses.

I like the possibility of Westbrook playing with Kawhi and LA. But it would mean trading key players to get it done, just to see him walk next season on free agency. I don't think any team would be in the right mind to do that. But wait there's Lakers and Clippers.
