    His tendons look broken.
Spurs were probably right with their medical diagnostic. Bad tendon. Suck it up and learn to play with the pain. Thats really the only solution to degenerative tendons. The more he plays and mentally accepts the better he will get.

Dennis and his camp seem to think otherwise.

Kawhi does not look the same physically. I've watched Raptors games and he's played efficient and well in some of them, but his defense isn't anywhere near the same, and he doesn't seem to get much elevation anymore. I really don't know if it's rust, but right now, he doesn't look the same athletically.

How did he go in today's game, anyway? I can't really take away much from one block.

In 3 of his 10 games he looked explosives but the rest not so much.

I think a lot of that has to do with the resting.

If the Spurs were right and Im starting to believe they are, he just needs to continue playing to develop pain tolerance with his broken tendon. Apperently thats what the meds wanted him to do. To be fair to the medical stuff, a degenerative tendon only real "cure" is improved pain tolerance.

He’s looked worse since he jammed his foot recently

Prior to that he looked incredible

On his worst day, he still looks better than DeRozen.

Its hard to look good with this personel.

Spurs is a poorly constructed team.

Would've been more satisfying if he tore his quad afterwards, tbh.

Yeah, true. i actually forgot about the foot injury. For some reason I was thinking he missed those couple of games due to resting, but I actually forgot he had a foot injury. And yeah, you're right, he did look really good in a few of the games, but definitely not all of them. I'm still giving him at least half a season to see if he can get back to his old self. Kawhi really excites me when he plays lock down defense and when he plays fast on the defensive end of the court. I just haven't seen that from him this season so far at all. His domination on defense and being able to take a game over on that end of the court is why I liked him so much. Just being able to blow up plays and then finish with a thunderous dunk after taking the ball from the offensive player is what I like to see most from him.

The trade was a W when the Raptors got 1 season of Kawhi without giving up OG or Pascal. Should have insisted on OG.

If anything this article points out how much of a pimp coach Pop is. I mean yeah Tim Duncan was the cornerstone, but Pop turned that into being the most feared man in basketball and the most gospel. It's really impressive. I mean they could only find one random executive to talk bad about Pop and he had to be anonymous bc of how scared he is of Pop's hand coming down on him. I like it. Especially for a small market team like us.

Also the reason no star wants to willingly sign here

Lamarcus needed a few days to decide between San Antonio and Phoenix...

Yeah but for a small market team to garner that respect/fear is pretty unheard of. Like nobody cares about what the Kings/ Magic/ OKC/ Bucks coaches say or do. Pop may be a dinosaur and dying out but man he's going out Tony Montana style. He's not going out like Phil Jackson or Jerry Sloan.
I agree that the odds of us signing a 3rd star is low and none of these premadonnas actually want to be coached and so the idea of playing for Pop can be seen as a negative. Everyone seems to respect him, but they know that their role and numbers may change if they play for him. Kind of parallel to Lebron James and playing with him.
We are going to have to homegrown a 3rd star and hopefully it's either Murray or Walker or this 3rd get we get in the draft this year.

Welp, Kawhi lost the ball out of bounds on the game winning possession, then they lost.

Impressive collapse with some key late turnovers

Need some more Ls to improve that draft pick, tbh.

Too bad they don't play tomorrow, otherwise it would've been another potential loss since Kawhi doesn't believe in back-to-backs.

Maybe the "Mafia" ordered someone to grease up the ball so Kawhi can turn it over at the end of the game...
