There's (so far) not much coding. It's more of a straight writing/video editing gig. , I even have copy editors helping out.
Most of the stories you see on there now were re-written from the broadcast copy into print/web style. That's what I did tonight. I write, drop it into the manager and it does the coding once I get it reviewed and uploaded.
As I get more experienced, I'll do some more stuff.

See, at MLN its supposed to do the coding for you, as well. But more often than not it turns the text black (bad on a grey background) or it will skip the paragraph breaks and run it together as one story. So invariably I have to go in and fix the code manually by changing all the #000000 to #FFFFFF to turn the text white or inserting <br /> for page break after deciphering amongst the code where each paragrph was supposed to end. What a pain in the ass!

I was almost going to have to go to Killeen, TX for Thanksgiving with my brother. Luckily, plans changed and they are coming down here to SA, only not till Saturday. So we are having Thanksgiving twice -- once on the real day and again Saturday. Oh, the weight I will gain with all that pumpkin pie and oyster stuffing!

Thanksgiving this year is just going to be me and my aunt (everyone's scattered now, and too busy to get together), but we've still managed to buy a ton of food. Something tells me I'll be taking big care packages back home.

I like the idea of Chili's spreading like herpes.
Someone told me a few weeks ago that Chili's is supposed to be a Mexican restaurant. I laughed my ass off, cus I see nothing Mexican about it. Of course, I could have been mixing it up with Applebee's or something. They are really all the same.
I've never considered Chili's to be Mexican. I don't even consider it to be fake Mexican. They just happen to serve fajitas and chips/salsa.
