Man Steals Puppy From Pet Store

SAN ANTONIO -- A northwest side pet store was the target of a $2,200 puppy theft Wednesday evening.
Store employees said a man agreed to buy a French bulldog puppy from the Pets-R-Us store on the 7900 block of Culebra Road, but when the manager went to get some paperwork, the man ran out the front door.
"We had three dogs stolen one time about a year ago and we recovered all three of those dogs the next day, so we're hoping for the same results on this guy with the help of the media," store manager Justin Sullivan said.
The alleged thief left the scene in a blue Toyota 4Runner and has a tattoo on his forearm that reads "Mexicano," according to witnesses.
The male puppy is about 9 weeks old and is solid white, store employees said.
Anybody with information is asked to contact the San Antonio Police Department.
