I know this is a quick change a topic but do the spurs still have Vaughn under contract. Drew gooden where does he fall in this puzzle keep him or is he opting out. I thought i heard him mention he'd like to be here for a while that night here arrived here. From the outside looking in i still say Spurs need a backup PG Hill is not that type of player and has limited offense. Second i Say a Bigman is needed as well. if i had too choice what to go after i would say another bigman would be a priority.
Vaughn will not be under contract when Free Agency comes around, and will, in all likelyhood, not be back.

Drew Gooden's contract is also expiring at the start of FA, so he doesn't have to "opt out" of anything. There is a chance the Spurs want to keep him, but there is also a chance they will let him walk.

If with all these trades / rumors / spurs FO being crazy good etc.. Vaughn is still there next year

Spurs are lucky that the owner is in construction, because that is one of the few businesses that are strong during bad economic times. A recession won't make the government stop making bridges/roads/public buildings.
Yea remember reading somewhere San Antonio was on of the few cities that was not impacted by the recession, deemed 'recession proof economy.'
